Here are some potential "out there" surprises that could occur in the main event tonight, which John Cena has forecast (much to the annoyance of Chavo Guerrero, apparently) will be talked about for years. What could live up to that build up? I'm not necessarily endorsing any of these scenarios, but rather just brainstorming some possible twists and turns that are options if WWE goes for a buzz-generating big finish...
-Triple H gets involved at the end. Perhaps, since C.M. Punk has targeted in him in his calculated pseudo-shoots, when Punk seems to be on the verge of beating Cena, Triple H stops him and helps Cena win.
-Or Triple H helps Punk win, and he leads up an anti-Vince McMahon campaign. Cena sides with McMahon.
-Of course there could be a double-turn of sorts where the pro-Punk crowd appears to be on the verge of seeing their home town hero beat Cena, but McMahon himself interferes and Cena embraces his help.
-McMahon helps Punk win, but explains that assuring Punk a victory was the only way to get Punk to agree to reasonable terms in a contract renewal, which was signed earlier in the day.
-Punk wins, but then the anonymous G.M. announces that Punk is stripped of the title because he's no longer under contract as of midnight and awards it to Triple H, her husband. Stephanie McMahon reveals herself to be the G.M.
-The Rock shows up and helps Punk win as a way to get back at Cena for all he's said about him recently. Punk agrees to an immediate title defense against Rock and lays down for him, winning the title.
-When Punk is about to win, Undertaker pops up from under the mat, yanked Punk under the ring, beats him up, throw him back into the ring, Cena hits an Attitude Adjustment and a pin, and then Taker explains that nobody is taking the WWE Title anywhere else.
-Chris Jericho shows up to help Punk win. Jericho then vows to go to Smackdown and beat Orton at Summerslam. Then he vows that he and Punk, as the dual world title holders, will rule WWE.
-Paul Heyman shows up and pretends to be on Punk's side, but then turns on Punk and helps Cena win, and Cena becomes a heel and Heyman his manager.
-John Cena pins C.M. Punk clean after an Attitude Adjustment, thanks the booing fans of Chicago for their support, and walks out of the arena. However, approximately 200 plants in the crowd jump the railing and beat up Cena, all dressed as Dexter. They cut Cena into little pieces, wrap those body parts in plastic bags, and walk away, only to be attacked by Sting's Evil Clown army who steal the body parts and put them on display in a traveling circus sideshow.
