-“Sad Song” by The cars
Christian's Peeps have sure been singing sad songs this week about Christian being only a 48-hour champion and dropping the World Title belt to Oily Orton. And, since what’re we hearing is that if Alberto Del Rio did win, well, that just would have created a hot booking mess with Smackdown not having a World champion and bookers wrangling somehow for Randy to get the win.
My main beef is that WWE didn’t even wait a week...didn’t let Christian’s win soak in or really take hold. Nope. None of that “celebration” nonsense. I guess I'm just "ignorant x jealous."
And, just look at Christian. He’s tiny. Frail. Like a little child or a small toothpick. He blows away in light wind. Orton’s a WWE guy, while Christian jumped ship over to TNA, with visions of milk and honey dancing through his head.
But, I can understand the backlash WWE is getting, although I do think it will die down. Hey, at least Christian became champ. It was something many people thought would never happen. Heck, who knows what would have happened if Christian were given the ball and the chance to run with it, at least for a while.
After “Isn’t the Rock great!” Raw and Orton becoming World Champion, the theme of the week for WWE is “Take no risks.” I can grit my teeth and go through another Rock birthday party if I’m teased with a Rock match at Summerslam or at least some activity of The Rock that doesn’t include him hosting a gig. (None of that, though. Just confetti and balloons for a guy’s birthday party. Great.) Monday Night Rock was for the casual viewers.
But, WWE in some way had to know that the older fans would be peeved that a well-liked veteran like Christian would get chumped out over a guy that pretends he’s a snake.

TNA Presents: Time-Traveling Zombies!
I'm not sure what is up with Angelina Love and her freaky master, Winter, but it doesn’t bode well. Let’s add some things up about TNA’s product, shall we?
Feuds with atrocious angles (Mexican America-Ink Inc.) + Rob Terry vs. Murphy + Sin Cara Rip-off + Time Travel + Zombies + Outside Lawsuits involving sexual harassment, debts, and not paying for wrestlers’ medical insurance = Bad news.
The “Sangriento” bit (should have just called him Cara Sin) feels especially cheap. The Mexican America angle feels like somebody over in TNA should pull their head out of their culo. (Somebody watched “Machete” and got all screwed up.) Do the patriotic thing and end the Mexican America stable. A lot of fans are tapping out to just how many dumb storylines and throwaway bits are on Impact Wrestling now.
But, there are some rays of hope. All of this talk about Jay Lethal on television makes me think they’re bringing him back, because the ol’ standby is, “why talk about somebody who’s not on your show?” (Then again, Hulk Hogan was on American Idol, and we didn’t hear a whisper about it from TNA, so there you have it.)
I did wish they would do something with Lethal. By the time of his departure, he was just another smiling kiss-ass like Kofi Kingston. I want Lethal back the same way I want a Zack Ryder match on Raw: I want to feel like somehow both companies are at least mindful of what a portion of their audience is thinking. Maybe they can put it on their surveys: the "I don't buy your PPVs anymore because championships will just change hands on the next Raw/Smackdown" option.
Robert Roode, or Bobby Boob as he’s now called, has been stepping it up and batting over .300 in his promos with him talking about how ol' pirate Hulk Hogan is pillaging and raping across the land. Of course, it still reeks of that "insider discussion" since there's no sense of Roode trying to win matches to move up the invisible ladder. I wonder if his character is going to go anywhere, other than just being the “other Beer Money guy.”
Plus, tons of reveals next week: the “Whatever, I’ll just check my mailbox every two weeks” guy and the “Wuzzah bring me some ice cream and onions right now!” lady.
