"Leaping" Lanny Poffo, the brother of Randy Savage, told PWTorch exclusively in December 2011 what Randy Savage's stipulations were for any Hall of Fame induction.

"Randy wouldn’t go in unless I went in and my father went in. He wanted to go in as the Poffo Family. That was his stipulation," Poffo said on the PWTorch Livecast about Savage's stipulations prior to his death in May 2011.

Asked if he would uphold Savage's request, Poffo said he would. Poffo continued, "But let me also add that nobody has contacted me from the WWE, so we’re just speculating. In other words, Randy got the idea to go in as the Poffos right after the Von Erichs went in. Then we went to Olive Garden to celebrate my father’s birthday. It turned out to be his last. He said, 'If anybody wants me in the Hall of Fame, I’m not going in without my father and my brother.'

"As incoherent as he (Angelo) was at the time, he smiled and he enjoyed it and he understood. And he was very, very happy to hear that. However, let me reiterate. Nobody so far has contacted me for the WWE, but these are the stipulations I would hold to. We didn’t cremate him against his wishes, so we certainly won’t induct him into the Hall of Fame against his wishes. We’ll do it exactly the way he wanted."

Poffo also described his chief concern about being involved in any Hall of Fame induction - it would not be the speech people want to hear.

"If I were to give a speech like that, which I hope I get to do, I would give the best speech that I could give and it won’t be good enough because what the people want is not what I have to give," Poffo told the PWTorch editor Wade Keller. "What the people want is not for this to be a posthumous award but for Randy to give this speech. He’s the best, he’s the one, and he should have given it. So, whatever I give, as good as it is, it won’t be enough."

Asked about Savage and his family's overall relationship with WWE prior to Savage's death, Poffo said, "Life is way too short to harbor negative feelings. Let’s just give the olive branch and let’s patch this thing up and let’s not aggravate it or exacerbate it right now. Whether or not the Hall of Fame ever happens - I don’t know how much time I’ve got on this Earth, so I intend to try to take the high road."
