-- WWE Royal Rumble PPV Reax

Liam Renner of Bel Air, Md. (6.5): Best Match: Bryan-Wyatt. Worst Match: Cena-Orton. This show had some really good stuff on it, I thought. Although, I agree with the crowd in Pittsburgh (being a Ravens fan, this is particularly hard for me to admit) that the evening could've used a lot more Daniel Bryan winning. As over as he is, imagine if WWE gave him a real shot at the main events. I thought a Cena-Bryan title match was much more appealing than an Orton-Batista match. Nothing against either man. I really think Batista is the most underrated "top star" there's ever been. I like Orton, too, but for the title match at the biggest show of the year? No thanks... I liked the Rumble well enough, as it's very hard to have a bad Rumble match, but historically, this show has to be down near the bottom of the list when it comes to Rumbles. To me, the Royal Rumble should almost always be the second or third best show of the year, but this one was just... meh. That's the best word I can think to describe it. That being said, at least they seem to be going with something new in Bray Wyatt, who has never looked better than in his match with Bryan. Funny how that works for a lot of guys who work with Bryan, huh?

Mathieu in Sherbrooke, Quebec (4.0): Like someone else mentioned, thanks to Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan for saving a disastrous night. Excellent match between these two. With Big Show injured, I thought they did a good story for him to be out and Lesnar to show up as a beast, but it still a pretty bad match. Then, Orton vs. Cena 56 offered nothing fresh and Cena kicking out of everything was "same old, same old," just like the fans seeing an old star coming back after years away and conquering the Rumble. It left a bad taste in the mouth. Not very good so close to the WWE Network launch.

Keith Sterling of Albuquerque, N.M.: I think Vince McMahon is the scapegoat for this year's Royal Rumble. Look at list of people in the Rumble - most of them were Triple H's buddies. Meanwhile, the rest of Rumble set the way for a lot of the rumored Mania matches: Rhodes vs. Goldust, Shield break-up, Wyatt vs. Cena, and Brock vs. Batista or Brock vs. Taker.

Minz in the U.K.: A spark-less Rumble. So, it was a great night for Triple H's boys, but not so much for anyone who watched the PPV. My overall feeling was one of a huge anti-climax, especially with the Rumble match itself. But firstly I don't see any value with the 'Old' Age Outlaws having the belts. I mean, why? Nash returning was another "why?" moment. It seemed to take the spark out of his 2011 return, which had more of a mystique about it, but I didn't really see the surprise in this one especially since other names like Jake, Sting, Jeff Hardy, and the Warrior were rumored, and would have had a more exciting feel to them. Lastly, Batista winning the Rumble? The only way I feel WWE would redeem themselves would be to set up a match at Mania between Batista and Lesnar by having Lesnar win the belt at the Elimination Chamber match to go on to face Batista at Mania. Then, the Rumble outcome wouldn't seem as empty... In conclusion, the crowd summed up my feelings as I'm sure it did for others... WWE continues to lose it's "big feel" spark as the years go on. And this PPV was no different.
