-- WWE Royal Rumble PPV Reax

Brandon Berrett of Ogden, Utah (5.0): Best Match: Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt. Worst Match: Lesnar vs. Show. WWE presented a PPV that showed how good they can be at what they do, as well as how bad they are at doing what they claim to be doing: giving the fans what they want. They were successful with the opening match, which was as good as any match that I have seen. But, everything after that was average or less. WWE seriously needs to re-evaluate how they are presenting their product. The WWE Universe as a whole engaged in a collective dry heave in response to the Rumble outcome. Not a good sign if you are on the Creative team.

Shawn Decker (4.0): The first two matches were great - it set up Bryan's Rumble win after that intense match and the loss was... wait. I'm done. After this PPV, I'm abandoning my plan to get WWE Network and canceling my Raw and Smackdown Season Passes on TiVo. I need serious WWE detox for at least a few months... I will just settle for Torch updates if I can even bring myself to do that. (I can, don't worry!)

James R., PWTorch reader (2.0): Best Match: Bryan vs. Wyatt. Worst Match: Orton vs. Cena. How not to book a PPV: (1) Put what will obviously be your best match on first. (2) Have your most over babyface beaten clean by an unproven heel in the first match. (3) Have an ambush "match" which ends in a lengthy further ambush/assault, with nobody doing anything about it. (4) Put on the top title match between two guys many fans are bored of. (5) Have finisher swaps, multiple kick-outs, etc. in said match. (6) Have your battle royal main event won by a returning guy (who can't wrestle very well) so you can cross-promote a movie.

Antonio Focarile, PWTorch reader (7.0): I thought it was a very good show. The start of it was great as the Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan match was off the charts and exceeded my expectations greatly. Also, the Rumble match was the best in my opinion since 2010 or so, because the last three years bored me. But, this year's Rumble kept my excitement throughout the entire match even if there were not as many surprises. . ... The letdowns of the show were in the middle of the show (Lesnar-Show and start of Orton-Cena) because I didn't like what Lesnar and Show did, and I understand neither man could have lost clean, but I'd rather have seen a 6-7 minute match over what they did. The last few minutes of Orton and Cena were great after the crowd actually got invested in their match instead of hi-jacking the match... I was so disappointed when Rey Mysterio came out as #30, along with the fans. They wanted to see Daniel Bryan win and so did I, even if I knew Batista was going to win. The upside to the Rumble, though, was that Roman Reigns put on the best performance and I actually thought he was going to win. ... Overall, I hope WWE changes their minds on Bryan because I don't want to see Batista vs. Orton at WrestleMania. Not for the match, but because the fans will hi-jack the match, which I don't want.
