-- WWE Night of Champions PPV Reax

Simon Greig of Redditch, England (4.0): Best Match: Bryan vs. Orton. Worst match(es): Divas Title and the needless Miz-Fandango match. Wow. I wasn’t expecting too much out of this show, and I was shocked to see Bryan actually win clean again and the show end with the title remaining in his hands. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one waiting for a Dusty finish, or some other type of screwjob? I mean, after weeks of Triple H and Steph running amok, tonight he decides to play fair and disallow any interference? It doesn’t make any sense. Heck, even The Shield won straight up clean without resorting to interference. Good to see in some ways, but confusing booking all the same given that the Corporation had no reason to play fair... Outside of the main event, there were too many nothing matches on this show, hence the thumbs down rating... Punk vs. Axel/Heyman was painfully dull, coming from someone who likes all three characters involved. Plus, the Ryback "surprise" did nothing for me... Finally, what about the greatest champion votes? Sting and Hogan winning the U.S. and WWE champion votes, respectively - if they are genuine, I’d loved to have seen the look on Vince’s face when they were announced. If the polling was contrived or intentionally set up for them to be voted on, does that mean they will be in WWE soon? Either way, I look forward to hearing the debate on these.

GK of Altoona, Pa. (5.0): Best Match: Bryan vs. Orton. Worst Match: Miz vs. Fandango. I was not going to order this show, and now I am regretting I did. Going in I did not feel that the card was particularly strong or interesting and that theory proved correct as the night went on. I knew that somehow the IC Title would be defended, and Kofi is the go-to face for the mid-card belts, so his appearance was not surprising. He and Axel had a decent match, but Axel just has no charisma. They really should have taken the belt off of him... The Divas title match started out good, but was not given time to get off the ground. I agree with A.J. retaining, but Nattie should not have been the one to submit... ADR vs. RVD just was not an exciting match, and having Del Rio keep his belt through a DQ loss means we are going to see this match again next month. My guess is RVD wins to turn around and lose to the Sandow... Miz vs. Fandango has been seen on TV already... The Punk vs. Axel & Heyman match was entertaining once Punk got his hands on Heyman. However, it seemed obvious that someone would help Heyman. Ryback was high on my list of possibilities... The U.S. Title match was fine, but Ziggler has been so emasculated and beaten down over the last few months that there was no real expectation for him to win... The main event was a good match, but I don't get the logic of Daniel Bryan regaining the belt so soon. The story is much more interesting if he is chasing the title. The count was fast, so maybe there will be some kind of follow-up on Raw tonight... Overall, NOC just did not really deliver. Only one title changed hands, and it was unnecessary. After a string of good and meaningful PPVs, WWE really broke their streak last night. I hope they can get back on track and make Battleground more significant than NOC turned out to be.
