WWE Main Event TV results
December 11, 2013
Taped 12/10/13 in Portland, Ore.
Aired on Ion Television
By Michael Cupach, PWTorch contributor (@MJCupach)

[Q1]

-WWE open.

-Main Event music video followed by a shot of the ring with tables, ladders, and chairs set up around ringside and the WWE and World Titles suspended above the ring like they were at the end of Raw.

-Dolph Ziggler's music plays and the guy that John Cena gave a chance to makes his way to the ring.

-Josh Mathews is with The Miz and they talk about the All-Star panel at TLC during the kick-off show. That’s weird, as I have no plans on being in Houston this Sunday...

-Curtis Axel and Ryback are out next, Curtis Axel will be taking on Ziggler tonight!

1 - DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. CURTIS AXEL (w/Ryback)

Miz and Josh start talking The Slammys and how Stephanie won “Biggest Insult” and Miz is still hot over her calling him a utility player. Curtis Axel works a hammerlock on Ziggler as Miz mentions the Seattle crowd and the love they gave Daniel Bryan on Monday. Nice to see they aren’t pretending like nothing happened! Axel embarrasses Ziggler with a takeover, then plays to the crowd and lets Ziggler back up. So, Dolph hip-tosses Axel down and then shows off.

Neckbreaker by Ziggler and he follows up with nine quick elbow drop and then drops a high elbow as the crowd counts along. Axel withstands the barrage before nailing Ziggler in the stomach with a right hand. He takes him down, only to put the boots to him. Axel whips Dolph into the ropes and Dolph hits him with a Hart Attack-style clothesline. Ziggler hits Axel with a dropkick, but misses a splash in the corner and goes to the outside of the ring as Main Event cuts to its first break!

Back to action at 7:30, WWE plays a promo for TLC coming in from the break. Based on that and the décor for tonight, I think it is safe to say that they are pushing hard to get people to order the PPV! Back in the ring, Axel is choking Ziggler on the bottom rope. Ziggler tries to mount a comeback, but runs into a knee from Curtis, who tries the pin, but Dolph kicks out. Modified crossface from Axel, but Dolph fights to his feet and hits Axel with a chinbuster to break the hold. Suplex by Ziggler and both men are down and out!

[Q2] Both men reset. Dolph finally hits that corner splash, then tries a bulldog, but Axel throws him off as Ryback claps approvingly! Dolph reverses out of a slam and puts Axel in a sleeper hold, which used to be Dolph’s finisher back in the day. Axel easily fights out, but runs shoulder-first into the steel post and Dolph gives him a Fameasser on the rebound for another near fall! Josh notes that Billy Gunn invented the Fameasser, while Miz notes that the Outlaws looked like Harry and Lloyd from "Dumb & Dumber" last Monday.

Building to the finish, Ziggler kicks out of a Perfectplex. Axel thought he had a three and shows frustration when picking up Ziggler. But, Dolph DDT’s Axel, Ryback pops on the apron for distraction, and Axel puts Dolph away with his front-face neckbreaker for the win!

WINNER: Curtis Axel by pinfall in 14:25.

-Josh and Miz talk up the kick-off match of Ziggler vs. Fandango this Sunday. Miz says that he knows Dolph and Dolph knows he can’t make mistakes like that on Sunday if he wants to win. If he knows he can’t make those mistakes on Sunday, why would he make them tonight?

-Josh and Miz throw to a clip of C.M. Punk winning his Extreme Moment of the Year Slammy for beating up Paul Heyman, then they plugged Punk's three-on-one handicap match against The Shield this Sunday.

-Natalya’s music plays and she is in action next!
(Commercial)

-Alicia Fox is out. It looks like she has a rat on her head, but it is some kind of hat that the kids wear these days!

2 - NATALYA vs. ALICIA FOX

The crowd is firmly behind Natalya as she trades wristlocks with Fox, then floats over to a headlocks. Miz claims that on Total Divas, you can see how they really are outside the ring and then segues into A.J. cutting her promo against the Total Divas. Miz calls it the best promo a Diva has ever done and he is surprised it didn’t win! Natalya tries a victory roll, but Fox holds onto the ropes and Nattie nips up, only to nip up right into a boot from Fox. That looked vicious!

Fox grapevines the neck. Natalya fights free, but Fox knocks her right back down! Northern Lights suplex by Fox gets a two count, then goes back into the grapevine. Miz says that Natalya’s Sharpshooter is so dangerous because she can hit it anywhere, anytime, and out of nowhere! I would like Miz to elaborate on that one! Fox misses a charge in the corner and Natalya comes alive with a series of clotheslines and body slams!

[Q3] Nattie misses a charge in the corner and somehow parlays that into rolling through into the Sharpshooter, which vindicates Miz somewhat! Fox taps out almost immediately.

WINNER: Natalya by submission in 4:58.

-Still to come, more from Raw!

(Commercial)

-Raw Rebound time. The end of last Monday's Raw is shown from the Orton-Cena handshake all the way to the end of the show. This Friday on Smackdown, Triple H will give Orton an opportunity to apologize.

-A hype video for John Cena vs. Randy Orton at TLC is shown. Highlights of their careers paralleling with the other ones are shown. Cena won the U.S. Title at the same time Orton won the IC Title. Cena won the Royal Rumble and Orton won the Rumble. Cena won the WWE Title and Orton won the World Title.

-R-Truth rapped to the ring with Xavier Woods. They are in action when Main Event returns!

(Commercial)

-Tons of Funk and The Funkadactyls dance to the ring, Tons of Funk will take on Truth and Woods!

[Q4]

3 - R-TRUTH & XAVIER WOODS vs. TONS OF FUNK (w/Funkadactyls)

Woods and Clay start things off, but Clay thinks twice about it and tags in Tensai. Woods sticks and moves against Sweet T, but he shrugs off the offense and hits Woods with a single shot that takes him out! Tensai runs over Woods and then tags in Clay, who unloads with left and right hands in the corner. Woods doubles over in the corner, so Clay charges the corner and squishes Woods. At this point, the crowd is starting to boo Clay and clap for Woods to come back!

Bodyslam by Clay. He then looks at Truth and taunts him with some hip-shaking gyrations. Woods dropkicks Clay and hot-tags Truth! Truth comes in with lefts and rights and then shakes his hips for Clay! Truth lays out Clay and looks like he making short work with him, but Brodus rolls to the floor and Tensai yells at Clay to get his head on straight! Truth dives over the top ropes onto both men, but they catch him and Woods dives next and takes out everyone!

(Commercial)

Truth is peppering Clay with rights and lefts, but Clay backs into Woods and knocks him off the apron. Truth tries a tornado DDT, but Brodus tosses him off and across the ring. Big leg drop by Brodus Clay, then he drags Truth to his corner and tags in Tensai. Suplex by Tensai gets a two count on Truth. Tensai with a Vulcan Nerve Hold on Truth to slow the pace to a crawl! Truth gets to his feet and tries to slug it out with Tensai to no avail, then Tensai drops an elbow on Truth for another two count.

Brodus is back in and he goes back to the Nerve Hold well! Truth gets to his feet and Brodus elbows him on the shoulder to knock him back down and then drops an elbow on Truth for a two count. Back to the nerve hold! Exciting! Cool! Neat!

In the corner, Brodus Banzai Drops Truth and then pulls him to the middle of the ring and…NERVE HOLD! Woods yells at Truth and offer encouragement, then Truth fights out and knocks Brodus down with a jumping scissor kick!

Woods is tagged in. He dropkicks Clay's knee, then takes him down with a clothesline before taking out Tensai. Honor Roll by Woods gets a two count. Woods knocks Tensai off the apron again and then walks into a powerbomb attempt, but Woods counters out and blind tags Truth in. Woods is t-bone suplexed across the ring, but Truth jackknife-pins Brodus and gets the three count!
WINNERS: R-Truth and Xavier Woods by pinfall in 12:49.

-After the match, Brodus attacks Truth until Tensai steps in and tells him to knock it off. Brodus gets in his face and Tensai shoves Clay, who teases that he is about to knock out Tensai, but the girls are pleading with them to stop fighting.Tensai is yelling at Clay to start thinking straight, but Clay leaves the ring. There is one final shot of the titles hanging above the ring as Main Event signs off!
