1 - U.S. champion KOFI KINGSTON vs. ANTONIO CESARO – United States Title match
Kofi and Cesaro have a chain wrestling sequence, and each man tries to overpower the other into submission, but each guy gets reversed. Both men reach a stalemate and reset at 1:30. Front facelock by Cesaro, and he wrestles Kingston into a pinning predicament, but Kofi slips free. Kofi reverses the hold into an armdrag into an armbar. Back to action 7:20 into the match. Cesaro goes to work on the midsection and keeps the pressure on by dropping elbows, but Kofi is resilient! Cesaro grabs Kofi's head and drives multiple vicious-looking knees to the midsection of the champ!
[Q2] Kofi starts to make a comeback with a dropkick and a flying clothesline. Boom Drop connects and Kofi calls for Trouble in Paradise, but Cesaro rolls to the floor instead. Cesaro baits Kofi to the apron and Antonio hangs Kofi up on the top rope. Cesaro re-enters the ring to stalk Kofi and Kingston surprises him with an S.O.S. for a nearfall. Cesaro then goes back to work on the midsection and out of nowhere plants Kofi with a Michinoku Driver for a nearfall!

Kofi is in control when Main Event returns at 15:00. He dives over the top ropes onto Cesaro and huracanranas him into the steel steps. Kofi gets back in the ring and then launches himself back on top of Cesaro again! Kofi rolls Cesaro into the ring and tries pinning him, but Antonio kicks out. Kofi walks into a forearm from Cesaro and then jumps into his arms for a gutwrench attempt that Kofi counters into a small package! Amazing sequence there!
Kofi is selling the knee, which he injured earlier in the match, and Cesaro locks in a half Boston Crab. Kofi fights out of the hold and tries Trouble in Paradise, but Cesaro catches him by the leg and puts the half crab on again! Tremendous wrestling and counters from both men here. Kofi scratches and crawls to the ropes to break the hold after about 30 seconds in the hold.
Kofi rolls to the apron and Cesaro brings him into the ring the hard way with a vertical suplex. Cesaro thinks he has Kofi beat, but Kofi won’t die and Cesaro is beside himself wondering what it will take to put the champion away. Cesaro pulls Kofi to his feet and bodyslams him and goes back to the half crab. Kofi is screaming in pain as JBL and Cole wonder how much he has left in the tank. Kofi is twisted like a pretzel here and he uses his good foot to break the hold for a third time.

WINNER: Kofi Kingston by pinfall in 22:14 to retain the U.S. Title.
Mike's Reax: Tremendous match! It has been a while since Main Event saw a quality match like this. This was a nice change of pace from terrible Khali matches, Mark Henry gauntlet matches, and whatever non-action took place between The Miz and Wade Barrett.
-In the ring, Matt Striker asks Kofi about his win and Kofi points out that 2013 hasn’t been the greatest start for him, but a few weeks ago he beat Cesaro for the title and that was the start to the greatest week of his life because he became a dad for the first time days later. Kofi dedicates the match to his son and wife and proclaims that he is coming home a champion!

At least I am taking their word for it that it was heavy.

-3MB makes their entrance, as Heath Slater will take on Justin Gabriel. More Nexus vs. Nexus action! Or, Corre vs. Corre if you dare to remember that era.
[Q4]
2 - HEATH SLATER vs. JUSTIN GABRIEL
Heath stalls to start and plays the air guitar. Armdrag by Justin Gabriel, then he plays the guitar and mocks 3MB. Slater takes offense and charges at Gabriel but gets armdragged again. Cole briefly goes over their history together in the Nexus and Corre and how they are former tag champions as Gabriel continues working on Slater. More armdrags by Gabriel into yet another armbar! Slater fights to the ropes and gets sent to the outside.
3MB have a group huddle, so Gabriel suicide dives 3MB and rolls Slater into the ring. Jinder and Drew cause a distraction and want a piece of Gabriel, so the referee ejects the two members of 3MB to the dressing room and Gabriel throws Slater over the top rope as Main Event cuts to break at 5:00.
(Commercial)
Gabriel has Heath Slater in a *gasp* armbar when Main Event returns. Slater fights out, but takes a right hand to the face. Justin attempts the 450 splash, but Heath powerslams Gabriel off the top rope! Slater puts the boots to his former partner and then puts him in a chinlock. Dear lord. Slater sticks and moves on Gabriel and takes him off his feet and then plays the air guitar again. Hard whip into the corner by Heath takes the air out of Gabriel, then Slater tries a pin, but can’t get the win.
Slater to the middle rope and he gets caught by a right foot when he lands! Leg sweep by Gabriel, then Slater misses a splash in the corner. Spinwheel kicks by Gabriel and a springboard shoulder tackle by Justin Gabriel almost puts Slater away! Both men trade forearms in the corner, Gabriel then knocks him out with a kick, but Slater was playing possum and he prevents the 450 again.
Superplex is blocked by Gabriel. Justin then shoves him off and nails Heath with a 450 splash almost halfway across the ring! It's good for the win.
WINNER: Justin Gabriel by pin in 13:24.
