WWE Main Event Results
February 6, 2013
Taped 2/5/2013 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Aired on Ion Television

[Q1]
-WWE open.
-Main Event music video followed by full pyro. Michael Cole welcomes everyone to the show, and Cole is with JBL. Cole “breaks” the news that Vince McMahon had hip surgery and is recovering at home. JBL wishes him a speedy recovery because last Monday, Vickie Guerrero signed Brock Lesnar to a new contract.
-Cody Rhodes makes his way to ringside and he wants the show shut down because this show is turning into a farce and the Elimination Chamber PPV is looking to be comedically awful because neither Cody nor his bff, Damien Sandow, are included. He takes the stance that the match doesn’t have six former champions, it has six former failures who couldn’t hold on to the title. Cody grabs a chair and sits in the middle of the ring until Booker T comes out and places Cody in the Chamber match. Michael Cole informs him that Booker is the GM of Smackdown, not Main Event, and Booker isn’t in the building because of that.
Sheamus’s music plays and he tells Cody that he should put the little chair away because they have a match. He thinks Cody should take his brogue kick like a man and get it over with. Cody does a terrible Sheamus impression, Sheamus thinks so too, and Sheamus wants his match now. Cody says that if his name isn’t Booker T, he wants nothing to do with him. Sheamus asks what he wants and he asks what Cody would say to Booker if he came to the ring right now. Sheamus does a Booker impression saying, “Tell me he didn’t say that?! Sucka!”
Cody doesn’t need Booker, he will go over his head, so Sheamus does a Vickie Guererro impression. Cody claims he has connections and that there are people backstage who still owe the Rhodes family favors. Cody admits that he will go to Vince’s hospital room and demand a World Title match if he has to. Sheamus does the Vince impression and I should note that all impressions have been bad to awful thus far. Cody takes a shot at Sheamus, who ducks and sends Cody packing.
Mike’s Reax: I guess gone are the awesome video packages showing what the performers are all about and giving the match a big fight feel. What are here are wacky opening segments filled with bad impressions and some real knee-slapping moments!

1 - SHEAMUS vs. CODY RHODES
Cody tries using his speed to avoid Sheamus to start, but Sheamus nails him with a back elbow. JBL comments that he didn’t care for Sheamus’s impressions tonight, Cole thought they were hilarious. Michael Cole also calls JBL’s impression of a commentator the worst impression he has heard tonight. Cody works a side headlock to keep Sheamus grounded, then Sheamus fights to his feet and breaks free from the hold. Sheamus runs over Cody with a series of clotheslines and shoulder tackles, then Cody rolls to the floor to catch his breath.
Back in the ring, Cody traps Sheamus in the corner and unloads on him. The referee calls for a break, but Cody gets whipped into the ropes and Sheamus catches him with an Irish Curse backbreaker. The Celtic Warrior goes to work targeting the arm of Cody, he hits him with a single arm DDT to get a two count on Cody. Cody gets whipped hard into the corner, Sheamus drops a knee on Cody and tries another kick, but Rhodes kicks out again. Suplex by Sheamus, he pulls Cody to his feet and knocks him back down with a big clothesline.
[Q2] Sheamus tries dumping Cody out of the ring, but Cody skins the cat and Sheamus notices and ties Cody up in the ropes and goes a clubberin’ across his chest. Sheamus knocks Cody to the floor and JBL quips that he almost knocked his mustache off! On the outside, both men brawl around ringside. Sheamus rams Cody into the steel post and then throws him into the barricade as Main Event goes to a break!

Back live, Cody counters a suplex by hanging Sheamus up on the top rope. Cole notes that Miz is absent this week because he was injured by Brock on Monday. Michael Cole also breaks the news that Booker T has suspended Alberto Del Rio after his attack on Big Show last Friday on Smackdown and Monday at Raw. Cody pounds away on Sheamus to keep an advantage. Submission hold by Rhodes, the crowd mildly gets behind Sheamus who powers out and puts Cody down with another Irish Curse.
Irish hammers by Sheamus followed by a knee lifter, Sheamus goes up top for a battering ram, but Cody counters with a Beautiful Disaster kick to send Sheamus to the mat. Both men reset, Cody goes to Crossroads, Sheamus reverses into White Noise. Sheamus calls for the Brogue Kick, it connects, good night Cody!
WINNER: Sheamus by pinfall in 14:02.
Mike's Reax: Not much of a fight put up by Cody, who is struggling post Rhodes Scholars.
-Up next, Daniel Bryan vs. Damien Sandow!

[Q3]
-A promo for Fandango is shown. It makes me want to buy movie tickets in advance for some reason…
-Damien Sandow is out, and he declares that he will avenge his best friend's loss and that he should be in the Elimination Chamber match. Sandow calls Sheamus an Albino Irishman and scolds the crowd for cheering his bad impressions of the WWE upper echelon. Sandow calls his opponent tonight his arch-nemesis and calls out Daniel Bryan.
2 - DAMIEN SANDOW vs. WWE tag champion DANIEL BRYAN
Bryan comes out firing with a series of European uppercuts to send Sandow rocking and reeling to the corner. Running clothesline from Bryan sends Sandow to the corner, Bryan nails him with a running knee. Bryan sidesteps Sandow and sends him to the outside, where he follows Sandow out with a knee to the face off the apron.
Back in the ring, Kane’s pyro goes off and Bryan is upset at his appearance tonight. Sandow tries a quick roll-up, but Bryan kicks out. Bryan lays out Sandow and then goes back to arguing with Kane. Kane sets off his pyro again and gets into it with Daniel Bryan. Sandow hits Bryan with his Straight Jacket neckbreaker to pick up the win.
WINNER: Damien Sandow via pinfall in 2:33.
-Kane and Daniel Bryan argue over Bryan losing.
-Backstage, Tamina and Aksana try to get hired by Brodus Clay as his new backup dancer. The Funkadactylls interject themselves and challenge the two girls to a match for later tonight. Aksana calls one of the girls “Kofi” and the fight is on!

[Q4]
-Raw Rebound featuring The Shield and what they are about, showing clips of their greatest hits (run-ins). Brad Maddox calls out The Shield, they come out and jump him, John Cena is out next, and he comes through the crowd flanked by Ryback and Sheamus. They clear the ring of Shield to end the Rebound.
-Michael Cole throws to a WWE.com exclusive clip of when Raw went off the air. In the clip, Cena made the six-match tag match of Cena, Ryback, and Sheamus vs. Shield at Elimination Chamber.
-The Funkadactyls, with Brodus Clay, make their way to the ring, but the girls get jumped by Aksana and Tamina. Cole cuts to a quick break while WWE officials try to restore order!

3 -THE FUNADACTYLS vs. TAMINA and AKSANA
Clay is on commentary, and Tamina starts with Cameron. Awful looking bulldog by one of Funk's dancers, followed by a missed charge. Scoopslam by Tamina, who drops a big leg, but not as big a leg as Hogan does! Tamina works a chinlock and can clearly be shown whispering spots into Cameron. Aksana is in, and she does a spinning sidewalk slam. Aksana keeps the pressure on Cameron, preventing her from making a tag. Naomi is tagged in, then she huracanranas Aksana and she is a house of fire in the ring! Cross-body from the top doesn’t put Aksana away, but a spinwheel kick does?
WINNERS: Funkadactyls by pinfall in 4:36 grueling minutes.
Brodus dances in the ring with his girls as Main Event signs off. No match announced for next week. Is Main Event slowly dipping into Superstars territory?
