-Main Event music video is shown, no pyro this week. Michael Cole welcomes everyone to the show alongside his co-host, The Miz. The Miz starts to talk about Wade Barrett, but Big Show's music hits and he makes his way to the announce table to do commentary for the match. The cell phone footage of the fight in the pub between Sheamus, Big Show, and William Regal is re-shown. Watching this footage for the fourth time in two days make me wonder how Big Show can sneak up on anyone for a cheap shot.
-Wade Barrett makes his way to the ring, and a video package of his WWE career is shown. The highlight reel focuses on his bare-knuckle fighter gimmick and background. The video ends with Wade doing a voiceover saying that his barrage can’t be stopped.
-Wade has a microphone in the ring and he starts to talk Survivor Series, but Sheamus’s music interrupts and he storms to the announce table and goes after Big Show. Referees and officials break up the brawl as Main Event takes a break!
1 - SHEAMUS vs. WADE BARRETT
Both men are jockeying for position to start things off. Michael Cole insinuates that Big Show started this ringside brawl, which Big Show takes offense to. Show threatens Michael Cole, so Miz defends him and asks Show to stand down. Back in the ring, both men reset and feel each other out, as things seem to be starting slow tonight. Snapmare by Sheamus, he knees Barrett on the bridge of the nose. The crowd is clearly behind the hometown hero, Wade Barrett, tonight. Sheamus drives a shoulder into the gut in the corner. Sheamus shoots the ropes and ends up getting clotheslined by Barrett. Sheamus blocks and reverses a suplex, then ducks a charge from Barrett and sends him out of the ring.
[Q2] I was pretty sure Main Event was going to a break there, but instead Sheamus ties Wade up in the ropes and clubs him across the chest ten times and then pulls him back into the ring. Sheamus ends up getting clotheslined to the floor. Barrett follows him out and whips Sheamus into the barricade. Wade rolls into the ring and tells the ref to count him out, but Sheamus answers the ten count, but then gets sent back to the outside when he gets on the apron.
Back on Main Event, Barrett bodyslams Sheamus. The crowd is loudly chanting for Barrett, who mule kicks Sheamus and then pumphandle slams him. Wade Barrett ties Sheamus up in the ropes and knees him in the face and then kicks him to the apron. Barrett rolls to the floor and unloads a series of right hands onto Sheamus. He then pulls Sheamus to the floor and whips him into the stairs. Barrett climbs the barricade in a rare showing of his high-flying ability and drops an elbow.
Back in the ring, Barrett whips Sheamus hard into the turnbuckle, but still can’t put him away. Chinlock from Barrett to wear down Sheamus, but he is able to get to his feet and side suplex out of the hold. Sheamus explodes with a clothesline, both men are down, and the crowd chants Barretts name as Main Event takes another break.
Both men are trading blows when Main Event returns. Barrett has the upper hand for a hot second, but Sheamus puts him down with a Irish Hammer. Wade rolls out of the ring, but Sheamus catches him with a battering ram off the apron and then rolls Barrett back into the ring. Slingshot shoulderblock from Sheamus gets a two. Sheamus goes for White Noise, but Barrett counters into a mule kick to the face, which looks suspiciously like Sweet Chin Music. Barrett's Wasteland gets reversed into a Celtic Cross, and Barrett counters back into Wasteland, but Sheamus kicks out of a pin attempt.
[Q3] Irish Curse by Sheamus. He goes for the win, but can’t put Barrett away. Sheamus goes up top for a battering ram, but Wade knocks him off balance. Sheamus headbutts Barrett off the turnbuckle, but Barrett hip-tosses Sheamus to the mat. Barrett sets up Sheamus for an elbow from the top rope, but Sheamus gets the knees up. White Noise from Sheamus. Big Show is done watching the match, and he gets up and starts to leave, which distracts Sheamus, but not for long as he Brogue Kicks Barrett and puts him away!
WINNER: Sheamus by pinfall in 22:43.
Mike's Reax: Slow start to the match, but it really got going after a minute or two. This was an excellent big-man match. Barrett held his own against the dominate former World Champion and Sheamus looked ready for his rematch with Big Show. Big Show, it should be noted, was great on commentary, as he continually tried to intimidate Michael Cole who was in full-fledged face mode. Cole and Show had a good dynamic on commentary.
-Michael Cole plugs how to help those who were affected by Frankenstorm last week.
-Cole throws to a replay of Sheamus and Big Show brawling before the previous match, in case anyone forgot.
-Backstage, Matt Striker is trying to have a word with Big Show. He asked Show if he is concerned about his match with Sheamus after such a dominant performance. Big Show tries to leave, Striker asks for a response, but Big Show knocks him out with a WMD.
-A video package of Brad Maddox’s explanation for the actions at Hell in a Cell and his subsequent million dollar challenge match with Ryback on Monday is shown.
-R-Truth makes his way to the ring with Little Jimmy. At least I assume Jimmy is with him.
-Heath Slater comes to the ring flanked by Jinder Mahal. Heath and Truth are in action, next!
2 - R-TRUTH vs. HEATH SLATER (w/Jinder Mahal)
The match is joined in progress. Slater has Truth in a waistlock. Truth breaks the hold and Slater showboats in the corner. Side headlock from Truth. He gets shot into the ropes and shoulderblocks Slater. Both men have an impromptu dance-off, and Truth is the crowd favorite! Truth mounts Slater in the corner and nails him ten times between the eyes. Truth drops a big leg across the throat of Slater. Jinder tries to distract, but Truth shows his determination and clotheslines Slater to the floor. Slater and Jinder double-team Truth to knock him down and out on the floor.
Back in the ring, Slater stomps on Truth and then puts him in a headlock. Slater whips Truth into the ropes and catches him with a high knee on the rebound. Heath then chokes Truth across the middle rope, but won’t be for a pinfalll. Truth gets tossed back to the outside where Jinder Mahal cheapshots Truth.
Back in the ring, Truth fights out of a side headlock, but gets pummeled by Slater in the corner. Neckbreaker by Slater, but Truth kicks out. Slater plays the air-guitar, then Truth face-plants him. Jinder Mahal runs in and attacks Truth from behind, causing the DQ.
WINNER: R-Truth by DQ in 7:14.
-Post match, Slater and Mahal double team R-Truth and then play air guitar while standing over him.
-Michael Cole plugs next week's main event of Daniel Bryan and Kane taking on Rhodes Scholars in a Tag Title match! A video package showcasing Team Hell No is shown, but it quickly turns into a promo for the Tag Title Match for next week.
