1 - JUSTIN GABRIEL vs. HEATH SLATER

A technical glitch wiped out my details.

WINNER: Justin Gabriel in 11:00. This was a good match with a lot of back-and-forth. The story was that every time Gabriel wanted the 450 Splash, Slater attacked him on the turnbuckle. Gabriel needs to find a character or a partner with someone to speak for him, and Slater needs to continue to develop his in-ring game. Slater has a few nice moves, like his snap powerslam to an opponent on the turnbuckle, but his matches tend to have a few too many holds and basic moves in them.

2 - YOSHI TATSU vs. JOHNNY CURTIS

Tatsu and Curtis trade holds and Curtis transitions to power offense. Tatsu comes right back with the Japanese arm drag and a dropkick but Curtis puts him over the rope. Curtis with a strange strike on the mat for two. Curtis with more power. Curtis mocks Tatsu by doing the Crane stance from "Karate Kid," which Josh Mathews calls, "The Karate Kid Maneuver." It's official, it's not just wrestling that Mathews does not know the names of the moves.

The crowd tries to rally Tatsu out of a hold, but when he gets out, Curtis puts him down again. Curtis dominates with a headlock, and manages to act creepy in the ring, too. Striker says that he'd let the older of his fabled sisters date Curtis because "she's annoying." Tatsu with a punch and kick comeback. Tatsu gets two with a Shining Wizard and heads up top. Curtis rushes, so Tatsu jumps over him and connects with a roundhouse to the head for the win.

WINNER: Yoshi Tatsu in 5:00. Excellent exhibition for Johnny Curtis. He's developing nicely in the ring, and his sexual predator personality is starting to be displayed in matches, which is quite foul to see. Good work all around.

They aired a summary of Triple H-Undertaker from Raw. I thought that Undertaker package was so lame; it made me think of the "Die Dan Die!" room in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective."

3 - WWE tag champions EPICO & PRIMO (w/Rosa Mendes) vs. JTG & MICHAEL MCGILLICUTTY - non-title match

Look, it's the human "censored bar" herself. My mother was glad that they weren't on Raw or Superstars so she wouldn't have to hear Lawler or Booker T verbally drooling over her. Interesting pairing of JTG and McGillicutty. I'm not sure who is the face here. The high-flyers took the face corner, though.

Primo with a huracanrana to start the match, then he puts his head through the ropes to get a big kiss on the cheek from Rosa. McGillicutty with a short amateur wrestling sequence. Rosa distracts him, but he still lands bombs on Primo, a big drop kick, and sends Primo over the ropes. Epico with a distraction and Primo ambushes McGillicutty from behind. The Tag Team Champs isolate McGillicutty in the corner. JTG gets tagged in and goes nuts on Epico. Primo then sneaks in a blind tag and hits the Backstabber for the win.

WINNERS: Epico and Primo in 4:00. Decent match. I'm not sure if Michael McGillicutty makes sense as a babyface and I wonder how much damage has been done to JTG's character over the last year on NXT. But, it would be good to see more tag teams in WWE to give folks the opportunity to grow and develop, and JTG may have something to teach McGillicutty.

[ c - WWEShop.com ]

They aired an Elimination Chamber video package. I'm disappointed that I'll be out of town next weekend and miss EC, as it's my third-favorite PPV after Mania and Money in the Bank right now. The PPV has been consistently good lately.

4 - U.S. champion JACK SWAGGER vs. SANTINO MARELLA - non-title match

Santino messes with Swagger's hair to mess with his head, but Swagger ignores Marella's kung-fu styles and punishes him for a stretch. Swagger knocks Santino out of the air on a dropkick attempt. Marella makes a two punch comeback and Swagger puts him right back down again. Swagger whiffs a Swagger Bomb, allowing Marella to squeeze in his punch, punch, hip toss, headbutt routine. Marella preps the Cobra, but Swagger ducks it and picks him up. Marella slides down the back and rolls swagger up for two. Swagger with a big boot and the Anklelock for a quick tap out.

WINNER: Jack Swagger via submission in 6:00. You don't build a strong champion by having him take six minutes to beat Santino, even if it was eventually just a long squash match on Superstars.
