June 9, 2011 - Week 9 on WWE's website (episode #113 overall)
Taped the Week of June 6
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor
This week's WWE Superstars episode on WWE's website began with Raw announcer Scott Stanford welcoming in Josh Mathews live from the studio for voice-over commentary on the Raw matches this week since the matches were taped during the live Tough Enough season finale prior to Raw. Out first was JTG and Stanford noted his recent heel turn. Chris Masters was out next as the opposition. Mathews said Masters is just a few pieces away from becoming a prime-time brawler.
1 -- JTG vs. CHRIS MASTERS
The bell sounded and JTG just kind of sat in the corner still sporting his Yankees cap to get over his heel persona. Masters wanted a piece of JTG, who slowly disrobed to make Masters wait to lock up. Masters landed some early offense, then JTG backed into the corner to cut off Masters's momentum. More stalling from JTG eventually gave him an opening while Mathews continued to talk about Masters being one or two steps away from being a "huuuuuuge" player in WWE.
Masters mounted a comeback at 3:00 and went to the second rope for a leaping shoulder tackle. More power offense from Masters, but JTG cut him off in the corner and went back to work on Masters. JTG called for the mug shot, but Masters avoided and followed right up with the Masterlock grip. JTG had nowhere to go and the ref called for the bell on a submission victory for Masters.
WINNER: Masters via submission at 4:38. Your basic Superstars match promoting the idea that Masters is just a few steps away from being relevant. (*)

2 -- MARYSE & MELINA vs. GAIL KIM & EVE
Prior to the match, Stanford noted Gail Kim's victory over Melina last week on Superstars. Mathews added that all four have held women's title gold in WWE. Mathews then segued a discussion about the Divas being all-stars to a plug for the three-hour Raw this Monday on Raw. He said the Raw GM is taking the week off to give the reigns to Steve Austin. Vacation? In WWE? That's absurd crazy talk. Meanwhile, the heel Divas isolated Eve early in the match trying to secure an early victory.
Gail eventually picked up the hot tag at 3:00 and cleaned house on Melina. The action then broke down when Maryse got involved. Gail and Melina were left alone in the ring and they played off the finish to their match last week when Gail tried to counter Melina's finisher with Eat Defeat, but Melina avoided Eat Defeat and landed her leg-split drop. It was good for the pin and the win.
WINNER: Melina at 3:47. Formula Divas tag match. Melina picks up an even-steven victory over Gail this week to keep their mini-program going.

In-ring: Back on Superstars, Mark Henry came out to the ring for a match. Matt Striker and Jack Korpela were shown sitting ringside on commentary as Henry made his way to the ring. Henry teased the crowd with his former babyface routine as his music continued to play. No sign of Henry's opponent here. His opponent was eventually introduced as Johnny Curtis. Striker began talking up Curtis, but no sign of Curtis. Henry was shown leaning back against the turnbuckles selling annoyance with this development.
Matt Striker then walked into the ring and noted they've known each other a long time. Striker asked Henry why he thinks opponents are afraid to face him. Henry said it's for the same reason this nothing right here (pointing to a fan on the front row) is afraid of him. Henry said he would break every person's face wide open if he saw that person in the streets, which is why wrestlers are afraid to face him. Henry said it's going to continue because if someone does come out to the ring, it's just like the song says, somebody's gonna get their ass kicked. Cue up Henry's theme and he turned over the ring steps on the way out of the ring vowing to destroy some ringside fans.

Announcers: As Striker and Korpela were chatting about Smackdown, Vickie Guerrero interrupted on-stage and introduced herself as "the Vickie Guerrero." She said her resume is very unique, prompting an itemized list of positions and lovers she's held in WWE. Vickie said she's the perfect person to manage a young stud in WWE. She introduced the "high-flying, hair-styling Tyson Kidd." Out came Kidd for the main event against Yoshi Tatsu.
[Break. They aired a new "Best of WCW Nitro" DVD plug focusing on DDP as the host.]
3 -- YOSHI TATSU vs. TYSON KIDD (w/Vickie Guerrero)
Korpela noted Striker was out there last week as Kidd's agent. Striker said he is, but he instructed Kidd to try out all potential managers to find the right fit. Nice start to the match with some strong exchanges between Yoshi and Kidd. Meanwhile, Striker presented a heel argument that Kidd is better than Bret Hart. "Kidd is money," Striker said the slogan is. Meanwhile, Yoshi executed a combination knee strike to the gut and Northern Lights suplex for a nearfall. Kidd came back with an attack to the knees, knocking Yoshi to the floor. Yoshi sold a knee injury as they cut to break.
[Break] Back from break, Kidd continued to work over Yoshi, targeting the injured left knee. Striker suggested potential Smackdown matches of Kidd vs. Sin Cara or Kidd vs. Daniel Bryan as he advances up the ladder. Yoshi sold he was in jeopardy with the "injury," then he flung Kidd away to the floor to buy some time.
Back in the ring, Yoshi rolled out of a sunset flip attack with a desperation kick strike for a two count. Yoshi mounted some more offense, prompting Vickie to pick up her pacing ringside. Kidd scored some return offense, but Yoshi fired back with a signature roundhouse kick for a three count for the win. Post-match: Striker lamented his client's loss before a replay aired. They cut to ringside showing Vickie arguing with Kidd. Vickie shouted in Kidd's face that he needed to listen to his advice. They signed off with the discussion still ongoing ringside.
WINNER: Yoshi at 11:40. Another perfectly fine singles match between Kidd and Yoshi. The search for a manager continues for Kidd... (**)
