June 2, 2011 - Week 8 on WWE's website (episode #112 overall)
Taped the Week of May 27
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor
This week's Superstars episode on WWE's website began with Smackdown announcer Jack Korpela plugging the WWE Tag Title main event coming up later in the show. Tyson Kidd's music then hit to bring out Kidd, who was alone this week. Shortly thereafter, Matt Striker came out on his phone. Korpela was joined by Booker T in place of Striker for commentary. Striker kept doing this phone gimmick holding two phones acting important. Korpela noted Striker is auditioning as Kidd's new manager.
1 -- TYSON KIDD (w/Matt Striker0 vs. TRENT BARRETA
Barreta quickly knocked Kidd to the floor and aggressively attacked him on the outside before Kidd hip-tossed him hard into the guardrail. Striker kept punching numbers on his phones, disinterested in the match. Striker handed Korpela his business card, continuing to put on an agent's act. Korpela asked Booker if he's ever had one of those opponents he's been so evenly-matched against. Since The Crippler Who Shall Not Be Named does not exist in WWE history, Booker referred to Christian. Booker was asked about managers during his career and referenced Sherri Martel. Meanwhile, Striker handed a business card to Booker. Striker then became interested in the match and gave instructions to Kidd, who suddenly scored a pinfall by trapping Barreta to the mat as he tried a victory roll.
Post-match: Striker took the mic and said he's watched a bunch of people trot out here as advisors, but he's figured it out: you don't need an advisor because you're Tyson Kidd. Striker said he's even better than Bret Hart. The crowd booed. Striker said Kidd needs an agent, then heeled on Korpela. Striker said Kidd's face is going to be all over WWE.com by the end of the week. He suggested they grow together. Kidd cackled and Striker said he's going to get him on PPV. "Better than Bret Hart," Striker declared.
WINNER: Kidd at 4:23. Striker's act came across like such a put-on prior to the promo, which was better than anything during the match. Apparently this is the end of the Managerial Search and it gives Striker something to do. But, of course, now the *burning question* is whether there's a conflict of interest with Striker the host of NXT and Kidd one of the Pros. Not that anyone cares.

2 -- JIMMY & JEY USO vs. THE CORRE (JUSTIN GABRIEL & HEATH SLATER)
WWE piped in some cheers for the heel Usos on the way to the ring to face the former tag champions. Korpela asked Booker what the Usos need to do in order to move up the ladder and Booker said they need to put on weight. Jimmy did a Rikishi dance move in-between moves and clotheslined Gabriel. The Usos continued to work on Gabriel before bodies started flying on the outside. The Usos then stood tall in the ring as the heels recovered on the floor.

Back on Superstars, the Usos continued working on The Corre as more cheers were piped in. Jey then found himself on the wrong end of a clothesline on the floor, allowing Corre to isolate Jey back in the ring. Meanwhile, Booker interjected a random item that WWE wrestlers get paid more money if they win in the middle of the ring. That would change the whole complexion of WWE if that were actually played up on TV. "Razzle dazzle!" Booker declared a few times as the action broke down. Uso #1 then got hung out to dry on the top turnbuckle and slumped down to the mat. Gabriel followed right up with his trademark 450 Splash for the pin and the win. The announcers played up Gabriel & Slater's Tag Title quest after the match.
WINNERS: Corre at 7:23. A needed win for Corre just to pick up a win, even if hardly anyone sees it. Meanwhile, Booker's cliché-o-meter exploded during this match.
Video package: Segue to a video recap of New Nexus capturing the Tag Titles from Big Show & Kane two weeks ago on Raw. Segue to a plug for New Nexus vs. Santino & Kozlov later tonight. I smell Tag Team Turmoil for the tag belts coming up in the near future.

3 -- MELINA vs. GAIL KIM
The Raw portion of the show picked up with Divas singles action. Scott Stanford noted each Divas match is an opportunity to move up the contendership list for a shot at Brie Bella. Once the match started, Melina instantly began screaming and shouting at Gail. Melina continued to work over Gail's lower back, risking DQ with some work in the ropes. The crowd tried rallying behind Gail, who eventually mounted a comeback at 4:15 with a top-rope missile dropkick. Both Divas sold on the mat, then they went to the finish with Gail countering a sunset flip bomb with Eat Defeat for the pin and the win.
WINNER: Gail at 4:50. Formula TV singles match and a solid win for Gail, who is always available to be spotlighted with the Divas roster diminishing by the week.
Video package: Fake Obama press conference to promote Capitol Punishment.
[Break]
Raw Rebound focused on R-Truth's issues with John Cena.

4 -- WWE tag champions NEW NEXUS (MICHAEL MCGILLICUTTY & DAVID OTUNGA) vs. SANTINO & KOZLOV -- non-title match
Early feeling-out process involving all four men, then Santino taunted Otunga with the Cobra to pop the crowd, but Mike blindsided Santino and began working him over. Loud "Santino, Santino" chant as Nexus continued to have their way with Santino. Otunga and Santino then had a double-knockdown center-ring, allowing Santino to tag in Kozlov. The action broke down moments later and the ref didn't see Nexus double-team Kozlov, setting up Otunga for a uranage on Koz for the win. Stanford called it a "huge blow" to Santino & Kozlov's chances of rising up the tag ranks. After a replay of the finish, Nexus was shown celebrating on the way out of the ring. The faces were shown recovering in the ring as Stanford signed off with a final shot of Nexus standing tall on-stage.
WINNERS: New Nexus at 4:34. Fine match, albeit short for a "main event." The build to Tag Team Title Turmoil continues...
