PPV Evaluation - WWE Royal Rumble

BEST MATCH - BROCK LESNAR VS. SETH ROLLINS VS. JOHN CENA

Very early in 2015 to make a call, but I think this may be debated come match of the year time. I was initially skeptical when this match was turned into a three-way, but it was exceptional. Brock continues to be the most exciting performer on the roster (no one has his aura when he shows up), and Rollins and Cena lost nothing in defeat. This was the best WWE match so far this year.

WORST MATCH - THE ASCENSION VS. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS

It's a toss up between this and the Divas tag team match, but this was a TV match at best. And The Ascension's "not quite Demolition, not quite LOD, not quite Powers of Pain gimmick" is so, so bad.

BIGGEST SURPRISE - DDP!

I'm biased because I'm a big fan of DDPYoga, but DDP coming out resulted in the biggest pop of the night at the Kyght household.

BIGGEST LETDOWN - THE RUMBLE

The Royal Rumble is generally one of the highlights of the year for wrestling fans, but this one never really clicked for me. Having Daniel Bryan tossed that quickly was virtually insane booking. And when THE ROCK is holding up the winner's hand and he's still getting booed, it may be time to re-think things.

BEST MOVE - SETH ROLLINS FLYING ELBOW

With Lesnar on the doomed Spanish announce table, Rollins delivered a flying elbow from the top rope where he seemingly got about 15 feet in the air. A total highlight reel moment.

BEST MATCH FINISH - LESNAR VS. CENA VS. ROLLINS

Whether WWE decides to stay the course with Reigns-Lesnar or use Fastlane to switch up to Bryan-Lesnar at 'Mania, this match was almost perfect. Lesnar looked like an unstoppable monster,Cena was protected, and the announcers put Lesnar over huge. A great finish.

OTHER THOUGHTS

The majority was run of the mill, but obviously seek out the three-way if you haven't seen it yet.

WHAT IT’LL BE REMEMBERED FOR

The three-way. And possibly the moment Roman Reigns's seemingly guaranteed rise to the top hit a speed bump...
