WWE Money in the Bank PPV Report
June 29, 2014
Boston, Mass.
Aired on WWE Network
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

PPV Pre-Show

The pre-show started with Renee Young (replacing the fired Josh Mathews) introducing the pre-show. Renee was joined by Booker T, Alex Riley, and special guest Christian. No mention of Josh being cut during the week. Renee then sent it to Tom Phillips in the Social Media Lounge. In the lounge, Tom said this is a "weird situation."

Video Package: A review of when Daniel Bryan was stripped of the WWE World Hvt. Title. Tonight, Bryan returns to address being stripped of the title.

Locker Room: Byron Saxton brought in Roman Reigns to discuss his involvement in the WWE Title ladder match. Reigns said this big dog will prove that he runs this yard tonight.

Back to the studio, where someone needed to bring up Renee's audio level to hear her over ring announcer Lilian Garcia. She eventually introduced a video package on MITB By the Numbers.

Back to Renee, who officially announced that Wade Barrett has been scratched from the MITB ladder match, putting the current line-up at six wrestlers.

In-ring: Michael Cole was standing by to welcome out former WWE World Hvt. champion Daniel Bryan. The crowd came to their feet as Bryan emerged on-stage with his hair looking like a Robertson family member. Bryan smiled and paraded around the ring doing the "Yes!" chant as Jerry Lawler and JBL were not heard on-camera. Audio levels!

Bryan waited out a sustained "Daniel Bryan" chant in the ring as Cole stepped back to give him the spotlight. Next was a louder "Yes!" chant. Bryan shushed the crowd, promoting a "No!" chant. Bryan did a mock hands-on-hips response, then said, "Well, okay." The crowd answered with loud "Yes!" chants

Cole welcomed Bryan back to WWE, then got to the main question of when he will return. Bryan said this is where he's got some bad news. Boos. Bryan said he doesn't know when he will be back, unfortunately, as the strength has not come back in his arm. And, he might need another surgery. Bryan said he will be back, though, and he will be better than ever.

Cole asked Bryan about someone new becoming WWE champion in a matter of hours. Bryan said obviously he would like to be wrestling tonight, and he would much rather be walking out with the WWE World Title. But, he's been fighting an uphill battle ever since he started. And, he will come back and re-win the WWE World Title.

Cole then read some Twitter questions. Asked who the biggest threat to win the title tonight is, Bryan said (1) John Cena (boos). (2) maybe Randy Orton (more boos). (3) Someone who he thinks is incredible - Roman Reigns (cheers).

Asked how Bryan felt about Stephanie McMahon announcing he was no longer champion, Bryan said he felt disrespected, but he understood because none of them (in The Authority) can beat him. He said he also couldn't believe how smug Stephanie McMahon was making the announcement, and one day, someone will come out here and wipe the smile off her face.

Suddenly, Bo Dallas's music interrupted. What about the next social media question? Bo walked out on-stage to address Bryan. "Hey buddy," he said. Bo said he understands that Bryan cannot compete tonight. "Gah, that's gotta be such a pain in the neck," he said to laughs. Bo said it's not about the destination, but the journey. He said Bryan might not be able to climb that ladder tonight, but he can still make it to the top again. "All you have to do tonight is Bo-Lieve," he told Bryan, who just smiled and laughed.

Bryan said he appreciates Bo's concern, but he thinks he's asking like a Bo-ner. The crowd answered with a "Boner" chant. And he speaks for everyone here when he says this: "Bo - leave." JBL said that's not the way you say it. Bryan's music played, then Bryan led the crowd in "Yes!" chants. Daniel Bryan, everyone.

Studio Panel: Renee Young got final predictions from Booker, Christian, and Riley on the MITB PPV. Suddenly, the Wyatt video interrupted.

Video: Luke Harper told the Usos that their time is up. "Tick, tock. Tick, tock," he said. "We're coming." Erick Rowan contributed a sideways look and "Run."
