WWE Extreme Rules PPV results

St. Louis, Mo.
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

PPV Pre-Show results

The PPV pre-show opened with live crowd shots from St. Louis as Renee Young introduced the show from an arena studio. Renee was joined by Mick Foley, Titus Young, and Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett. Barrett and Titus attempted some banter about Barrett not being on the card before the panel offered some thoughts on which PPV match they are most looking forward to.

Video Package: John Cena vs. Ryback feud leading to their WWE Title match tonight. Back at the studio, the panel struggled to discuss Cena's title in jeopardy tonight. Foley said he thinks Ryback has more on the line than Cena tonight. Renee then fed to a poll on what will be the "most extreme match of the night." And the YouTube feed froze. Two refreshes for an Office Depot ad and the feed is still frozen. Is this why WWE is shifting their online media focus to Yahoo?

Fortunately, PWTorch specialist Benjamin Tucker is in the building. Tucker reports that WWE continued with video packages on the PPV undercard, showed a "hardcore moment" from the John Cena vs. Batista feud a few years ago, and spotlighted the new steel cage ahead of Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H tonight.

YouTube's feed is still down and WWE.com's video feed is stuck on Cody Rhodes and The Miz in the ring.

A -- THE MIZ vs. CODY RHODES

After a refresh, Tony Dawson and Josh Mathews could be heard attempting commentary while the feed remained stuck. WWE's stream suddenly cut to a graphic hyping the pre-show. No visual; just audio of Dawson reacting with excitement to every move and cat-calls in the crowd. Suddenly, the YouTube feed went live. Dawson brought up Miz attempting to use the figure-four leglock and face announcer Josh Mathews decided to heel on Miz for his poor application of the figure-four. Speaking of the finisher, Miz applied it, leaned into the air, and Cody tapped out with both hands.

WINNER: The Miz in about 5:00.

Post-match, Dawson fed to a video on the #1 Extreme Rules moment: John Cena beating Brock Lesnar at last year's PPV. It was jarring to hear Booker T on commentary in a flashback to last year.

Back to the arena studio, where Renee Young asked the panel of Foley, Titus, and Barrett for their final thoughts on the PPV tonight. As Foley talked, WWE cut away to a live shot of Michael Cole being introduced for PPV commentary. JBL was then introduced to a strong reaction, followed by Jerry Lawler to a louder reaction. As Lawler was introduced, Foley talked about himself. Naturally. Foley then tried to talk about Brock-Hunter over "Jerry, Jerry" chants in the crowd. Renee wrapped up the pre-show with a plug for how to watch the live PPV coming up next.
