Wade Keller: I think what makes any boom period in wrestling work is the place and time, the circumstances, and what your target audience has been exposed to for the previous 5, 10, 15 years. And I think what worked in '98 or '99 or '92 is entirely different than what can work in 2009. So my question to you is how much do you think UFC's success, especially in the last five years, has changed how a promoter should approach how they present and market pro wrestling?

Eric Bischoff: It's apples and oranges. I know people have a tendency to want to somehow connect, even if it's a dotted line connection, MMA and professional wrestling because I think a lot of wrestling fans watch MMA. And I could be wrong. I don't have any data. I haven't done any research to tell me this. This is simply my gut. I think there are a lot of wrestling fans that like MMA. I think most MMA fans don't watch wrestling. Wrestling is entertainment. It's just a male soap opera. UFC, MMA is real sport. They're not even apples and oranges. They're apples and bricks. They're not even in the fruit family together. The only thing they have in common is there's a ring involved, and it's not even the same kind of ring. Other than that, there's nothing at all similar. I just don't think you can draw any correlation between the two in terms of marketing and promotion in my opinion.

Keller: Okay, a Devil's Advocate point of view. I don't think it's an A or B argument. I think there are nuances to it. But UFC markets fights off of two personalities that you're emotionally involved in, one you want to see win, another you want to see lose. They go for that whenever they can. And it tends to do better pay-per-view buys when there's a villain like Brock Lesnar and a hero like Randy Couture. In that respect there are some similarities even though fans go into wrestling knowing that it's scripted, predetermined, orchestrated…
