On September 14 and October 1, PWTorch editor Wade Keller interviewed former WCW President Eric Bischoff an exclusive multi-hour "Torch Talk" interview covering a variety of controversial subjects from the Monday Night War period, his days on WWE TV, his 2006 autobiography, and the "Rise & Fall of WCW" DVD.

We present today's latest question and answer from Part 8. Tune in tomorrow for the next series of Q&A's from the Eric Bischoff Torch Talk.

Wade Keller: This isn't a set–up for you take a cheap shot at him. I'm asking this very honestly. Do you think he's quite a smart person?

Eric Bischoff: Yeah. I do. There's a difference between being smart and being creative.

Keller: I was specific in my question. Intellectually, I think some people look at him and they have different opinions.

Bischoff: I think he's a very intelligent guy.

Keller: You said in your book and you just said it now that Russo can be charming and endearing at first. I definitely liked Russo when I met him and I had written some very, very, very critical things about him, and when we met in L.A. to do the DVD interview shoot, "The Ultimate Insiders," we got along great. I mean, we really got along great. I can see how he can talk himself into jobs with people who don't understand the industry and how he even earns the respect of some wrestlers because he's so passionate, he's a fountain of ideas, he's got all kinds of concepts. But to me, I see the same fatal flaws plague him that he doesn't learn from. You had mentioned earlier that everyone has 20/20 hindsight. The first thing that came into my mind was "not everybody" because Russo doesn't seem to because he seems to me to be making the same mistakes over and over. So you don't have to necessarily agree with that, but based on your experience with him and understanding people who follow him closely would say he's still making the same mistakes over and over, do you think he could be a valuable part of the creative team, or do you think his personality as you've experienced it is, It's my way and it's this way or nothing? That's a long question.

Bischoff: My honest answer is I don't know. Everybody changes. Every condition changes. The business has changed. The pressures have changed. We've all gotten older. Hopefully along with getting older people get wiser. They have scar tissue they didn't have previously. So I have no idea, you know what I mean? I just don't know.
