WWE wrestler John Cena continued WWE's mainstream exposure tonight with an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night" talk show on NBC. Cena hyped WrestleMania 26, promoted his WWE Title match against Batista, and talked about the rough travel schedule around WrestleMania.

Cena only had five minutes as the secondary guest behind Janet Jackson, so Cena and Fallon went to the pro wrestling 101 playbook to get over WrestleMania with the live studio audience and with viewers watching at home.

Fallon did Mr. Anderson's gimmick with an old-style house mic to introduce Cena, who came out through a stage in the studio audience and walked onto the set.

Cena and Fallon repeated "Are You Ready for WrestleMania?" with emphasis several times to introduce the concept, then reinforced it several times with the audience before getting the audience to catch on and shout it themselves.

The gimmick evolved into Cena having a stadium-style echo every time he said the word "WrestleMania" during the interview. It got over with the audience, which anticipated Cena's "WrestleMania" name drop by the end of the bit.

After establishing the gimmick, Fallon brought out a photo of Batista, which the audience booed since Cena is facing Batista for the WWE Title at WrestleMania. Cena and Fallon poked fun at Batista's tights and tattoos, then Fallon gave a comical explanation on why Cena will beat Batista at WrestleMania based on "research" he did for Cena came on the show.

"First, you kick ass. Second - I did research on this - you collect musclecars. He collects vintage lunch boxes," Fallon said. "Third point, you've been in action movies. He has only been on TV once other than wrestling shows and he ate snails."

Prior to Fallon stating his "research," Cena hyped WrestleMania Week and talked about the rough travel schedule before WrestleMania.

Cena rattled off the recent schedule of El Paso on Friday, Tuscon on Saturday, Reno on Sunday, four TV shows in San Jose on Monday, flew to New York with Vince McMahon for Fallon's show, then he'll go home to Tampa to kiss his wife, and off to Arizona for...pause...the audience filled in with "WrestleMania."
