Mike Pascale, PWTorch reader (9.0): Once again NXT's quarterly show is better than most (if not all WWE PPVs). Is it the time to build programs with three months to do it? Is it Triple H doing the slow burn instead of Vince McMahon hot-shotting angles? Or, is it just the focus on in-ring WRESTLING? I'd say it's all of the above... Great debut for Kevin Steen. The shot he took to the face and then got the win showed his "I'm here to fight" mentality. The Tag Title match was fine, but paled in comparison to the other tag match of Balor & Itami vs. The Ascension, which had a big fight feel and all four were at the top of there game... I like the slow burn between Corbin and Bull, feels very old school to me... The surprise of the night for me was the women's match, Sasha Banks more than held her own against Charlotte with great storytelling, especially Banks mocking The Nature Boy and using some of Charlotte's moves against her. Almost every NXT women's match is better than anything that happens on the main roster, why is that? See "all of the above" above... The main event was tremendous and great to see Sami get the win the right way. Setting up Owens vs. Zayn at the end was just the cherry on top. I applaud NXT for using a pre-existing feud, as it will be amazing. My only real gripe is Alex Riley on commentary. I really dislike the way he sometimes gets in the way of the matches trying to play the contrarian announcer.
