-- 9/7 WWE NXT Reax

Kaiden Malik of Cleveland, Ohio (0.5): Best: Goldust. Worst: Everything else. This was just terrible. I can't believe I sat through all that. A dance-off? How does that help with wrestling (not to mention some of the dances were PG inappropriate). I also could have done without the fat jokes aimed at Tony Chimel. The Divas bored me (except for Naomi) and the show became tiring to watch after 20 minutes. The only reason I'm giving this a 0.5 is because I thought Goldust's reactions and facial expressions towards his Rookie were hilarious. In closing, how does WWE expect to have viewers invest into a show about Divas when they are trained to view at them as filler?

Sam Weiss of San Diego, Calif. (6.0): Best Match: Women's tag. Worst Match: I guess they called it a "dance competition." For a while now, NXT has been the only WWE show that I have viewed every week, because of the novelty of the new talent and frankly because I've become bored with Raw and Smackdown. I anticipated Season 3 of NXT with some trepidation given how WWE has treated their Diva division over the past couple of years. From the beginning, the so-called "dance competition" was a disaster, and a few of the women demonstrated in that "dance" competition that they've yet to understand that WWE is strictly PG now, but the right woman won it. Naomi was quite impressive in the ring. In the competitions, she's already convinced me she's better than some of the current "pro" Divas. I look forward to watching her in future matches, although her mic work needs help. On the microphone, Jamie is clearly a professional and her buff body will no doubt appeal to the WWE management. Speaking of bodies, I wonder if the lack of silicone will hurt A.J.'s chances in WWE? However, A.J. has a strong girl-next-door persona that the current Divas stable lacks and no doubt she will be a fan favorite, yet her time in the ring with Aksana demonstrated that both of these women are still unpolished in their moves. Overall, the first episode of Season 3 was pretty much what I had expected. At the end of three months will we be able to declare Season 3 a GLOWing success?

Justin James of Columbia, S.C., IT professional/author (0.1): Best Match: Striker vs. Cole vs. Matthews triple threat. Worst Match: Entire show. This was one of the worst hours of my TV watching life. The last time I saw WWE this bad was the “Viewer’s Choice” show, and that looked like Shakespeare in comparison. The opening promos were absolutely awful. I fast-forwarded through the dance competition. The Capture the Flag race was lame. The Naomi vs. Maxine match was okay, but the ending was botched. Clearly, Maxine was supposed to kick out of the leverage pin while Kelly Kelly cleared the ring for Naomi to get the win. The second match was really bad; Aksana reminds me of David Otunga: too afraid to hurt the other person to make it look even close to being real. Naomi stood out on the show, but I think she was supposed to. I feel like the Aloisa "firing" is a work now, as they mentioned her too many times. Perhaps she is supposed to be the “Internet darling” of this season for Cole to rip? Vickie’s presence on the show as a Pro makes no sense. She’s had two joke matches to the best of my knowledge. Beth Phoenix or Melina should be on in her place.
