Monday Night Reax #1: "Neither WWE nor TNA is doing anything to warrant my attention right now"

-- 4/5 WWE Raw & TNA Impact Reax

Alex M. of Ontario, Canada: I have just started watching wrestling again for the first time in over a decade and I have to say that neither WWE nor TNA are doing anything to really warrant my attention right now. While WWE struggles to put forth matches that last more than four minutes, TNA struggles to give clear motives for its characters and to make me care about anyone in their company. In regards to Raw, the show had a strong finish, but its reliance on promos would have made me angry as a ticket-paying fan. In the first hour, there were only about five minutes of actual wrestling, which is utterly unacceptable. On TNA's side, hey had O.J. simulating sexual acts, awful camera angles, terrible transitions into commercials, and a Knockouts Title change that totally made the championship into a complete joke. As someone who is trying to get back into wrestling after a long absence, the products that the two major players are putting forth right now are rife with mediocrity, lazy writing, low work rate, and just all-around bland two-hour shows. My only sources of refuge right now are Ring of Honor and Dragon Gate. How sad is it that I have to rely on buying DVDs to see actual, quality wrestling?

-- 4/5 TNA Impact Reax

Joey Goetz of Mobile, Ala. (0.0): Wow. That was a horrific excuse for a show. I think TNA saw all the publicity Harry Smith's televised colonoscopy received and decided to broadcast a live abortion.

Omar Mills of Fairfax, Va. (1.0): Best Match: Nothing. Worst Match: Everything. This might be the worst wrestling show I have ever seen. I'm sick of Abyss, Bubba the Love Sponge, Sting, and the under-utilization of the roster. Dare I say it, but things were worlds better before Hogan showed up. The only thing worth watching on TNA is the women's division - and now they managed to screw that up. Taking the belt off of Tara with the suitcase gimmick? Then you destroy Angelina Love's credibility by having her lose clean to Tara in their one match-up and win the title this way? And now you're giving away the Angelina-Velvet match-up on free TV? What are they doing in TNA? Who writes this garbage? It pains me to say it, but when WCW was on its last legs, it was better than TNA is right now. If Dixie Carter has the sense God gives an ant, she'll fire Hulk Hogan right now. This show was hot garbage. I want an apology and the opportunity to regain the two hours of my life I wasted watching it.

Lee in the U.K.: After last week's dismal ratings, TNA realized the Knockouts draw for them and that Kurt Angle vs. Mr Anderson is a winning combination. The rest of the show was complete crap as normal. Seriously, TNA keeps repeating the same interchanges and the same weird pushes of characters who don't deserve to be in a Direct-to-DVD film. TNA is just lacking of everything. Hopefully someone can get the message to them that this just won't ever even compare to WWE..or ROH for that matter.
