Efren Bojorquez of Mesa, Ariz. (n/a): Best Match/Segment: Shawn Michaels speech. Worst Segment: Did it matter? This show is not about a rating, other matches, etc. Credit to be given, this entire show served one purpose: to give Shawn his proper goodbye. With Wrestlemania still fresh, WWE gave its top PPV and one of its all-time greats the moment they deserved. Sure, the main stories were advanced a little, and there will be plenty of time for that on Smackdown and Raw in the weeks to come. One thing resonated with me during Shawn’s speech: the unsung heroes in production. Jimmy Hart gets credit for creating a song that started around WrestleMania 8 and still popped a crowd 19 years later. The guys/gals in the truck, "Adam," who creates the video entrances/graphics, the cameramen, announcers, etc. - they create the visuals that supplement Michaels and the other wrestlers's talents. Well done, Shawn. A very simple, yet true goodbye. It may be tough for him to keep the promise of retiring for good, but wanting to keep his word to the fans is more than any wrestler has ever done when saying goodbye to what they love so much.
Jimmy Eaton, IT Technician (8.5): Best Match: Screw the matches, HBK's speech rocked. Worst Match: Divas non-match and any time I switched to TNA. (Although, it seems they had a long, decent match in the middle of the show, but I digress.) I think Raw hada pretty good follow-up to a huge PPV. They had three decent matches and a pathetic excuse for a Divas match. Guest hosts aside (some were hit and miss, all weren't needed, but I chuckled at the Mark Henry bit), one of my favorite parts of the show was...*gasp*... a potential Hart Dynasty push? They did a great job with them as faces along with Bret Hart, and there was some fantastic mic work from The Miz. The ending was fine with me as it prevented another Miz pin, got him and Show heat, and made the HD look good. I also enjoy how Jack Swagger is being put with the big boys. Let's see what happens from here on out. Quick prediction: Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger for the #1 contender spot at Extreme Rules. Aside from the matches being short (Christian and Ted was okay; I hope Ted gets more solidified as a heel from here on out), and the horrible Divas waste of time, mixed with pointless backstage skits, this was an all-around good show. Especially the end. HBK, in my mind, is the greatest ever. And what a class act to thank Bret Hart, as well as Bret speaking highly of Shawn earlier. Undertaker's tip of the hat was also classy and Hunter popping in at the end was fine with me (Sheamus jumping Hunter was well done earlier too). It was moving, from the heart, and makes me an even bigger HBK fan than I was after last night. Thank you again Shawn Michaels, for a fantastic ride. And also, being a Christian myself, when God and Jesus are thanked in wrestling more than I see anywhere else, that proves that despite all wrestling's flaws and shots about it being "classless," there are good people like this. Kudos to HBK, WWE, and the time they gave him for this moment. A perfect end to say the least.
-- 3/29 Impact Reax
Zach of Louisville, Ky. (8.5): Best Match: Jarrett vs. A.J. Styles. Worst: Creepy Orlando Jordan Caution tape thing. I mainly watched Impact and flipped over to Raw a few times and immediately switched back to TNA. I saw the Hart Dynasty vs. ShoMiz match and changed back. I saw Orton & Cena vs. Swagger & Batista, changed back. Same with HBK talking for 15 minutes while Angle and Anderson were giving a promo and the cage match. TNA was a good show tonight besides that strange Orlando Jordan thing and that pointless tag match. It was nice to see that Samoe Joe is alive; it only took them a month to come up with something. The cage match was too short but a nice finish even though the elbow drop was sloppy. Jarrett vs. Styles should have and could have been the main event. From what I've seen from TNA lately, that's where my TV will be Monday nights for sure now.
