-- 3/28 WWE WrestleMania 26 Reax

David Hayter of London, England (8.0): Best Match: Taker-Michaels II. Worst Match: Bret-Vince. This was a hard show to rate; it was great by any regular standard, but it was only good by Mania standards. Anyway, this was a thoroughly satisfying event. It didn't feature wall-to-wall four-star matches, but almost every match was satisfying and enjoyable. It's not a show that blew you away but it left you feeling good. Michaels-Taker couldn't top last year's, but they gave everyone a four-star plus match that had everyone on the edge of their seats. I really enjoyed Cena-Batista. Sure, it was clunky, but it was a great WWE-style match with strong crowd heat and Cena's feats of strength were simply incredible, especially that giant Attitude Adjustment. Edge-Jericho was under expectations, but perfectly enjoyable and so was everything else. The only downer was Bret-Vince. The tone was all wrong - it verged on turning Bret heel. Seriously, it gave Vince sympathy. People wanted that "feel good" moment and instead they got a cringe-inducing moment. But even an eleven-minute downer couldn't sink a thoroughly satisfying show, which maintained a high energy throughout.

Jonathan Carbo of Southern Pines, N.C. (6.0): Best Match: HBK-Undertaker II. Worst Match: The Divas match. HBK-Undertaker II might have been even better than last year's match. I hated to see HBK lose clean two straight years, but he may actually be done after seeing the post-match deal he had. I was glad to see Jericho keep the belt seeing as how weak Edge has been as a face. Cena as champ again? Ugh. Good MITB match. I hope Swagger can get a big push and step up to the plate with his performances here soon. Vince-Bret was terrible. I didn't expect much ring work, but everything was just so dull, and seemed unimportant. Good to see a Sharpshooter, though. My main complaint of this show is Michael Cole. He is the absolute worst. He really drags down the feel of the show and the angles.

Justin Shook (10.0): Best: HBK vs. Undertaker II. Worst: Divas. This show gets a 10.0 because I was in attendance to see the most legendary career in pro wrestling end. It was a magical moment that I will never forget. No one is even close to being on Shawn's level and I don't think there will ever be another HBK. The match was an emotional ride that left the entire arena gasping for breath. Whew! What a ride! The rest of the show was well-paced with many good matches. Edge and Jericho were a little off, but still awesome. Cena vs. Batista was way better then expected. The crowd wasn't into Bret vs. Vince until the Sharpshooter was finally locked in. Jack Swagger winning Money in the Bank was a cool surprise, but the crowd really wanted Christian to win. Vickie paying homage to Eddie was touching, but I don't think most people knew how to react. This was a stand-out WrestleMania and I feel it ranks up there with some of the best ever.

Mark DiNatale of Los Angeles, Calif. (8.0): Best: Undertaker vs. HBK. Worst: Divas. This was far-and-away a much better event than last year's WrestleMania. It was nice to see a Heavyweight Title match with some moves, as Edge vs. Jericho was a solid match and they have so much room to move forward to this one. I am looking forward to this feud continuing. The MITB match was a little crowded and I can't stand Swagger, so I would have liked to see Christian win and eventually make his way to Edge. The Bret Hart match was what it was. It was nice to see him in the ring again, and I knew his movement was going to be limited, but I was surprised he did much of what he did. The stuff with the Harts was a little messy and I wish Austin would have been the ref. Cena vs. Batista was decent for Batista vs. Cena. I long for the days of Austin vs. The Rock, back when crowds gave a crap. I hate that Cena makes you believe he was really in the military. I wanted to see Batista retain. I know Cena is the 21st Century Hogan and I like Cena, but just not tonight. Of course, the best match was HBK vs. Taker. A match with stars that have been around for 20 years and no titles closed the show, which points to Vince being in A LOT of trouble when the "old guard" starts to retire. The match was not as good as last year's, but it was pretty darn good in its own right. As for Shawn retiring, I hope he does. I am a HUGE HBK fan, but the guy has earned his right to retire and enjoy his non-wrestling life. He can still be the face of the WWE. I'm guessing at this point Undertaker is going for 20-0 and maybe he'll call it a career. Great match that made the $64.95 completely worth it to me.
