The following is a sample of feedback and reaction on a hot topic in pro wrestling the last 24 hours on a potential opponent for Bill Goldberg if he were to return to WWE. One hypothetical scenario would be Goldberg returning at WrestleMania 27 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. So, who would Torch readers pick as Goldberg's potential final wrestling opponent? Read a sample of the feedback and vote in our poll below.

***

Chris Allman of Austin, Tex.: Couldn’t this be the opportunity to see the Goldberg-Austin match? That one makes sense to me, but, perhaps, I am still thinking like it's July 1998. It's obvious Austin can still go and the proper build-up could make that a HUGE payday for both guys. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think this match would be great by any stretch, but wouldn't it be a really fun story to tell?

Davan Burnett, Torch reader: I know this is an if - a very big "if" - but I would love to see Goldberg go after The Undertaker if "The Streak" is still alive. I know everybody would probably say Austin, but could you imagine Undertaker vs. Goldberg for the streak, especially considering Goldberg's undefeated streak in WCW? I personally don't see it happening because, in my heart, I believe Shawn Michaels will finally get the job done this year and end The Streak. But, if not, I would love to see Goldberg take a crack at Taker.

Jeff Van Solkema of Grandville, Mich.: Chris Jericho would be an obvious choice with his hot heel character and willingness to continue wrestling, but they already had a PPV match during Goldberg's first run. A Mania worthy opponent would likely be Randy Orton or even C.M. Punk. Both could carry him to a decent match. Or, if Sheamus remains at the top of the cards, he and Goldberg could have a good heavyweight battle.

Josh Macala of Houston, Tex.: I don't really want to see Goldberg wrestle again, but if I had to choose someone, it would be none other than Chris Jericho. Why? They have unfinished business from WCW and it'd be nice to see Jericho be able to put that behind him.

Mark Dinatale of Los Angeles, Calif.: I have never been a WCW fan, nor a Goldberg fan, and I thought his stint in WWE a few years back was largely a flop. But, as far as making a comeback for one match at WM 27, I think it's great. There is always room on the card for that, "I never thought I would see that moment." A match vs. John Cena, in similar fashion to what WWE did with Hogan vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 18, would be exciting even for a non-fan such as myself.

Torch VIP Member reactions

mjcordell: Goldberg-Batista would be incredible.

Dr.DeathMark: The only person to pull it off would be Shawn Michaels.

Greg: No one ever has just "one more match."

Jeremy: I think Austin could be convinced to do it. It's a match at least ten years too late, but I would still love to see.

Nick Sacco: Goldberg vs. a heel John Cena would be a huge draw in Atlanta.

Mcgivey: Michaels would be good, but Goldberg shouldn't come back as a heel or have a face vs. face match. C.M. Punk or Jericho? They'd both make ol' Bill look big and tough and could get the heat on the promos (something Goldberg was never the best at).

Evan Meadow: Ladies and gentlemen, your next contestant to end the streak.

Jeff from Newton: (1) Goldberg-Rock, (2) Goldberg-Austin, (3) Goldberg-Cena.

Anything else wouldn't be big enough for Goldberg. Well, Undertaker or Michaels would be, but for some reason I feel like it wouldn't be as hot as the above. Although the man who created "the streak" vs. the WM streak might be a nice gimmick.

GOLDBERG POLL: Who should Goldberg face if he has one match left in him?
The Undertaker
John Cena
Steve Austin
Randy Orton
Chris Jericho
C.M. Punk
Shawn Michaels
The Rock
Batista
Sheamus
Triple H
