-- 2/15 WWE Raw Reax

Trent C. Cameron of West Virginia, Tech Support Rep (1.5): This show had the potential of being decent, as I was very pleased with the tag team match, especially with a titleholder (double in the case of Miz) getting pinned is refreshing. I think that a feud between ShowMiz and MVP/Henry could be very interesting. But, aside from that, all pleasantries are gone. I hate treading where so many have already gone before, but the guest host selection should really be evaluated. I am a fan of Jerry Springer and his show but essentially, this was another excuse to trot out Kelly Kelly, the Bellas, Hornswoggle, yadda yadda yadda. It was to be expected, but really, to the extent that it was carried out, it was a joke. I agree with Ranjin Singh when he interpreted that Khali said this was a waste of time. In that whole ring, Khali and Santino are the only ones that I really think had some place being there. Another thing I really can't stand is the push for Legacy. Seriously? DiBiase gets a bicycle kick to the face, Kingston gets 99.9 percent of the offense in the match, and after one move, it's over and Ted, Jr. wins. Gag me. One more note: Primo is still on the payroll? He's about as obscure as his brother is now. That is all.

Adam D. of Edmonton, Alb. (7.0): Best Match/Segment: Sheamus vs. Randy Orton, Cena-Batista promo. Worst Match/Segment: Ted DiBiase vs. Kofi Kingston, Jerry Springer Show. Raw got off to a great start tonight, but fizzled towards the end. WWE's focus needs to be more on hyping their upcoming PPVs for sure. No new matches added to Elimination Chamber shocked me. I'm sure we'll probably get a web announcement during the week, but I think WWE really needs to step up their game if they really want people to spend $45 a month on their PPVs now. I really wish WWE would at least pretend to convince us that Sheamus is not a transitional champion. I'd bet my hat that he loses the belt on Sunday, but looking at how Randy Orton is becoming a babyface in disguise, I'd love to see Orton hold the title and get a decent reign with it. A culmination at Summerslam with a heel Batista should be a reasonable goal. Speaking of Batista, how badass is he now? I love how on the Road to WrestleMania we really do get the best-of-the-best from everyone and Batista's great character is really making me want to see him and John Cena at WrestleMania. Speaking of Cena, not since Cena's early career run on Smackdown have I been more into Cena's character. Bret Hart's car accident segment was just weird, but hopefully it leads to something good. I'd really love to see the tag match of John Cena & Bret Hart vs. Batista & Mr. McMahon due to Bret and Vince's limited ability in the ring. It would give WWE a chance to close the McMahon-Hart saga, give Bret his WrestleMania moment where he gets Vince in the Sharpshooter after 12 years, and could continue an interesting (to this point at least) Batista-Cena feud. All in all, I found this show hard to follow. The DiBiase-Kingston match just confused me. The Jerry Springer segment was beyond fail. I found it ironic that Runjin made the comment he did when it's my guess that not too many people know he's a Raw writer. Oops. It was nice to see that the Miz-MVP feud has not been forgotten or blown off. The addition of Big Show and Mark Henry might be a nice way to freshen it and add a new dimension. The Triple H-Cena main event is the classic example of WWE not being able to let go of the old ways and try something new. The problem with these matches is this: if Triple H wins, it doesn't mean anything and if Cena wins it doesn't mean anything. These matches don't offer anything new to the viewer. That's one of the main reasons the main event from last year's WrestleMania was as poorly received as it was. Orton-Sheamus should have definitely been the main event here with a huge ending involving all six men. It was nice, however, to see Sheamus get to stand tall over Cena and Hunter at the end of this episode. Overall, WWE is on the right track, but need to maintain their focus if they want to deliver the WrestleMania they are definitely capable of.

Justin Shook, student (2.0): Best Match: Batista Promo. Worst Match: Ted DiBiase vs. Kofi Kingston. Jerry Springer was the worst guest host yet. The entire Jerry Springer show segment was so bad I seriously almost turned the TV off. Garbage like this is what will have people turning over to TNA on Monday nights. The rest of the show wasn't much better. Randy Orton and Sheamus had a good 10-minute match that further advanced the legacy split storyline, but could Sheamus look any weaker? The Bret Hart promo was very good, but the "car accident" angle was really awkward. They are either going to have Vince harass the helpless Bret for a few weeks only to have him return and get the match at Mania or they will use the "injury" as an out to have Cena wrestle for Bret and Batista wrestle for Vince. The tag match and the Ted DiBiase vs. Kofi Kingston match were both too short and did nothing for me. Batista was really the only good thing about this show. His promos have been money lately and this was no exception. He is that heel you just want to see get beat up. Cena vs. Triple H was okay, but it felt old and the ending was obvious a mile away. HBK and Edge not being on this show really hurt it. Is it Thursday yet?
