WWE Raw Reax #1: "I hope TNA competes with WWE because that seems to be the only way Raw will return to being good again"

-- 12/7 WWE Raw Reax

Justin Shook, college student (4.0): Best Match: Orton vs. Kofi Kingston. Worst Match: Mixed Tag. I give this show a 4.0 for one reason and one reason only and that's Sheamus. The guy can talk, and he is looking strong going into TLC. I'm sure John Cena will win, but maybe WWE will pull a swerve and have Sheamus win the tables march only to have Cena cash in the re-match clause and get the belt back the same night. I'm not sure the fans are buying Sheamus yet, but they will. Give him a few years and he can be huge. Congrats to the WWE for pushing him. That said, the rest of Raw was horrible. I mean we have seen bad Raws before, but this just sucked. The guest host was fine, but I didn't care about him. Kofi vs. Orton was okay, but I hate b.s. finishes. They better get a real match at TLC. I am a die-hard HBK fan, but even I found the weekly DX crap a bit much. It's old, tired, and boring. Break up DX so Shawn can get back to having matches of the year. That said, Taker vs. HBK wins that one hands down next week on the Slammys show. No offense to Jericho, who had some classic matches also. The divas got like 1:30 in the ring. Just get rid of the Women's division because I just skip through it on the DVR now. I invite all readers to watch all three hours of TNA on January 4. As a die-hard WWE fan, I am done. I hope TNA can compete with WWE because that seems to be the only way Raw will get back to being good again.

-- 12/4 WWE Smackdowm Reax

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (6.0): Best: Mickie vs. Beth vs. Natalya. Worst: Escobar vs. Hart Dynasty. This show was good in the moment, but if it wasn't for me taking notes, I probably wouldn't have remembered anything. Truth and Punk continue on with their feud with the added element of Luke Gallows. Luke's explanation leaves room for Jesse to return (minus Slam Master J) to try to reason with the former Festus. Jericho/Show got a double dose of redux, both in a promo and in a match (with Cryme Tyme). The most interesting match was the women's triple threat. The match itself was pretty good, and the teases of Beth-Natalya were nicely done. The crowd didn't know what to do with the two heels, but I'm game to see the results. The crowd didn't know what to do with Eric Escobar, either, and sat on their hands while he was getting pummeled. I'll be curious to see if Teddy Long has a few words with Vickie for trumping on his authority. Vickie was especially shrieky and annoying, wasn't she? I can buy Drew McIntyre wanting a match with John Morrison over the issue of not being included on the cover of WWE Magazine. I could see it over the issue of McIntyre being a created character to play in the video game. But I would have expected Morrison to challenge McIntyre quickly after Bragging Rights, not now. The match was okay to set up McIntyre as Morrison's next IC Title opponent, but it seemed like a lesser-equivalent to Sheamus's push. Batista got a nice dose of a heel push when he ambushed Undertaker. I don't have a memory for a chairs-only match, so it will be interesting to see how it's booked. I'm just not expecting it to be a long match.
