ECW TV Reax #1: "William Regal has stepped up big time since coming to ECW and he deserves a World Title run" Nov 4, 2009 - 12:33:43 AM
Alex Mobley of Louisville, Ky. (8.5): Best Match: Goldust-Regal. Worst Segment: Ryder-Mendes. Is it just me or does the new commentator remind anyone else of Taz? Anyways, it's pretty sad that WWE's biggest heel is on the least important of the three main TV shows. William Regal has stepped up big time since coming to ECW and he deserves a World Title run. I think his mic work is close to Jericho and his in-ring work is second to none. Goldust is another wrestler who has stepped up since coming to ECW. I was hoping to hear them announce Christian vs. Regal at Survivor Series, but that would be too much to ask. What was WWE thinking with Zack Ryder and Rosa Mendes? Another sex joke from WWE? So much for PG TV. Shelton Benjamin is still just okay. Man, remember when he beat Triple H? I really don't know what to say about Ryder at times. He's impressive and then there's weeks like this where he just doesn't look like a future main eventer. The new guy Vance Archer really did look intense. Christian is good and I can't wait until he gets moved to another show. Hopefully it will be Smackdown. Regarding Yoshi, I want to like him and I try to like him, but I just can't stand him. I always wondered why Ezekiel Jackson was the manager to The Brian Kendrick and not the wrestler. Now we all know why because three moves will only get you so far. Making Regal look strong at the end was wise going into the title match next week. I didn't mention Hurricane or Burchill because I'm done with their story. They both seem pretty terrible on the mic. Overall, good show with great storyline progression. Hopefully ECW will be given at least one match at the next PPV.
-- 11/2 WWE Raw Reax
Justin Eldridge of Cold Lake, Alb., Canada, military (6.0): Best Match: Miz vs. Evan Bourne. Worst Match: Divas Battle Royal. I was actually fairly impressed with how this Raw went. Even though Ozzy and Sharon messed up the names of Bourne and Kofi, the opening was pretty good. I hate how the announcers keep saying that Evan has scored some "big upsets" on Raw. I like that he actually got some offense in this time on The Miz even though his win was apparently stricken from the record. Sheamus looked dominant again, but WWE needs to give him someone to work with. That powerbomb on Noble looked absolutely brutal. I thought Jamie was really hurt. I was really excited to see what Kofi and Randy were going to give us, but they continued to make Randy look weak by having Legacy run in. Randy just had a big series with SuperCena and now he can't stand alone against Kofi? No offense to Kofi, as he has been developing really well. The six-man tag actually wasn't that bad and I was glad to hear the crowd come alive for the Mark Henry hot tag. I though "Raw's Got Talent" started out pretty good. Chris Masters had my vote. That was hilarious. Why was Khali there, though? Is Chavo going from fighting the smallest guy on the roster to the biggest? Once again, the divas got no love. Why not have a tournament to decide the number one contender instead of another "throw the girls out there and give them five minutes between the six of them" type match. I much prefer to watch the TNA Knockouts compared to this. Give them more one-on-one time! The main event was pretty good. I'm getting tired of DX, but they were really funny announcing. I was ready to be mad when Cena did his comeback with just a couple minutes left in the show, but it was nice to see the three invincible stars KO'ed for once. Good to see Jericho and Show given some credibility back, even though they'll probably get destroyed next week.
