WWE Raw Reax #1: "The main event commentary was hilarious with Triple H and HBK making fun of Vince, but DX has run its course..." Nov 2, 2009 - 11:51:53 PM
Alex Mobley of Louisville, Ky. (4.0) Best Match: Miz-Bourne. Worst Segment: Raw's Got Talent. I love Ozzy, but this was just a terrible Raw except for the progression of Randy and Kofi's feud. That is the only reason it gets a 4.0. I think I speak for everyone when I say, "DX, please break up and Shawn please turn heel." I think that would be the best thing WWE has done all year. It would be less predictable then Triple H turning heel. Evan Bourne looked really good as always. Did Sheamus really need another squash match? How many does one guy need on his career? The main event was okay, but not memorable. The commentary was hilarious with Triple H and HBK making fun of Vince yelling through the headset. But, sadly, DX has run its course and needs to end hopefully at Survivor Series. Oh, and I'm glad to see Cena actually take a loss, as well as DX. It will be interesting to see how creative will handle the seemingly inevitable DX break up hopefully sooner rather then later.
-- 10/30 WWE Smackdown Reax
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (7.0): Best: Batista-Rey promo; Morrison vs. Ziggler. Worst: Punk vs. Armstrong. Sunday had come and gone, and I was seeing lots of possibilities coming
out of the Bragging Rights PPV. Friday comes and goes, and my 9.0 score from the PPV is starting to downslide. I'm dumbfounded by the direction C.M. Punk's character is going. If the end is that Punk is exposed somehow, then it's fine, I guess. But what could Punk be exposed for when his part in the new Montreal Screwjob from two months ago has been clearly explained? The New Montreal just isn't clicking. Beth gets to squash a jobber, but at least a story was given to the jobber which usually doesn't happen. Could this match be an audition of sorts for the Miss Jenny Brooks? If so, she did okay. Eric Escobar has this look and the way he carries himself that reminds me of JBL and Barry Wyndham. The problem is that he doesn't have the charisma of either of them. It was smart to have him paired with Vickie Guerrero for the heel heat she draws, except she can easily overshadow him (unless that is the booking plan). There may still be the chance that the two non-captain groups of the Smackdown Seven could square off in a Survivor Series match. But none of the pairings (Escobar-Hardy, McIntyre-Finlay) played up to it. McIntyre seems nonplussed and back to ambushing as he was before. And Matt Hardy may have moved on to Batista as a side feud to Batista-Rey. Meanwhile, the six-man on Superstars featuring Cryme Tyme & R-Truth vs. Hart Dynasty & Mike Knox seemed more like a continuation of an ever-present feud than an extension of a new situation. Where were Big Show and Undertaker to put perspective on the World Title match? Other champions have scouted matches before, so why not those guys? For two guys not known for their promos, Rey and Batista did a great job. Batista is a different heel than during his Evolution time, and the heel turn progressed at a much slower rate than his face turn. This storyline actually looks like it was well thought out. Just wished the other ones were.
