WWE Raw Reax #3: "Is it bad that I would have been more intrigued by the 10 men in the main event playing basketball than wrestling?" May 26, 2009 - 1:44:09 PM
Michael V. Sears, SSgt, USAF Holloman AFB, New Mexico (5.0): Best Match: Triple Threat. Worst Match: Divas title match. What were Vince McMahon and the WWE thinking? The "owner" of the Nuggets skit was one of the most childish things I've ever seen in wrestling. It was just completely low-brow and unnecessary. Vince should've been happy that he managed to switch venues and had the ability to still put on Raw, instead of feeling the need to put on such a debacle. I guarantee more people watched the Lakers-Nuggets game than Raw, not flipping back and forth like some of us. And what was up with the Divas title match? I noticed Maryse had a small wardrobe malfunction, so maybe that's why the match was so short. But to disqualify a female wrestler for shoving her opponent over the announce table makes the Divas look weak. Men can beat the hell out of each other, but we are supposed to believe the women are that fragile? It's bad enough they aren't all very polished in-ring performers, but an ending like that makes it worse. What was the fake Jack Nicholson's purpose? Very dumb. Kofi vs. MVP will be unique because they haven't wrestled before that I know of, but money says Regal and/or Hardy will interfere and ruin it. So the countdown begins, what will happen first, Randy Orton loses the WWE Title or Mr. Kennedy gets injured again? I'm barely going to comment on the Kendrick tag match. What a waste of a good wrestler. Perhaps he should put the bud down to get back in the good graces of Vince. Is it bad that I would have been more intrigued by the ten men in the main event actually playing basketball than wrestling? And if I had a nickel for every time Michael Cole said it's the WWE's version of the NBA playoffs, I'd be moderately rich. Another disappointing Raw.
Scott Vyka of Brea, Calif. (3.0): Best Match: Kofi-Hardy-Regal. Worst: Vince-Fake Kroenke. Outside of the Memorial Day tribute and the #1 Contender's Match for the U.S. Title, it was all a dud. C'mon, just a shove for Kroenke? Why not have a nice beat down and make the Fake Kroenke join the Kiss My Ass Club? Why not spray paint the Nuggets jersey? Hell, light the damn thing on fire. Anything. ANYTHING. Give us something to talk about the next day, other than "that sucked." Since when does pushing someone over the announcer's table cause a DQ? A Hog Pen match? I guess the ghost of the Godwinns has been seen in the halls of Stamford. Since we're going "extreme," how about an "Enus on a Pole" match? It was nice to see The Coach back, if only for his job at ESPN. You know he either loved to report that story or he hated every minute of it.
