WWE Raw Reax #1: "A hog pen match at Extreme Rules? This is not an extreme match! Well, extremely stupid." May 26, 2009 - 11:31:54 AM
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (3.0): Best: main event. Worst: wrestling, for starters. Don't think too many people were thinking Mr. Kennedy as the fifth man. There were other possibilities that would come to mind faster: Shawn, Triple H, Shane, Flair, Vince (he was in the building). But Kennedy will definitely do. Kelly and Maryse both tried to not have wardrobe malfunctions, but what kind of stupidity was a DQ from pushing someone over the announce table? The guys use the announce table all the time. And did Mickie James suddenly forget about the way she was eliminated from the battle royal last week? Why didn't she get involved instead? She could have served double duty. Better yet, have someone else pin Beth Phoenix, and have someone mention the losing streak Beth continues to be on. A hog pen match at Extreme Rules? Did anyone else notice the dead reaction to it? This is not an extreme match! Well, extremely stupid. Kofi getting this nod for a U.S. Title match makes me think there's more to it. MVP will get a defense in, and retain, but in a way that keeps the division competitive and vague. Ric calls out Randy Orton, like he said he would. I guess Vince has amnesia to the fact that his family was taken out. True, I don't want to see that part of it go on anymore, but at least acknowledge things. And it's moving to both a potential Flair ring return and a Batista turn. Now comes the age-old question: which will come first? After all this fine build-up looks like WWE has begun The Miz burial. In the time he had he did marvelously to gather heat, but then Big Show's there to play pecking order. He was then kinda invisible in the main event. He wasn't the only one invisible; was Lawler even a factor in the match? Kennedy did get some time in and looked okay in his first match, but there were too many guys involved to make it mean anything. No one really saw enough time for the match to mean much. The other nice surprise of the night was MVP getting the pin at the end. Just when hope for him was lost, it was found. But it was too little too late for tonight.
