WWE Judgment Day PPV Reax #2: "I do not regret ordering this PPV, but I was hopeful that something out of the ordinary would happen because it was a PPV" May 18, 2009 - 1:51:29 PM
A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. (8.0): Best match: Swagger vs. Christian. Worst: Paying for free TV. This is in no way a bash to any of the wrestlers that performed last night. They did the best they could with the outcomes that they had to participate in. Everyone seemed to give it their all, but the fact of the matter is that everything I saw last night for $50, I've seen before on weekly Raw, ECW, and Smackdown shows. I do not regret ordering this PPV because everyone put on such a great show, but I was hopeful that something out of the ordinary would happen because it was a PPV... you know, like a wrestler getting tossed into a spotlight. WWE must have known we all were waiting for Punk to cash in MITB at the end of the show because it didn't happen. Highlights of the show include Santino vs. Miz on the mic, Morrison's corkscrew, Edge's Edgecution, Jericho's anti-619 promo, and the further development of Swagger. Low lights include Cena overcoming odds as he always does (so in essence, he's not overcoming anything at all), matches declared meaningless on-air, (way to push Punk and Umaga down the drain, guys) and predictable finishes to each and every match.
Brandon Brown of Washington, D.C. (6.5): Best: "Miz and Santino Show" and Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio. Worst: John Cena vs. Big Show, Randy Orton vs. Batista. Jumping straight into things, C.M. Punk had very little momentum in front of the hometown crowd last night. Yeah, he got destroyed by Umaga, and in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with that. However, Chi-Town was expecting to see more out of Punk. After his loss, they were expecting a MITB cash-in later. Didn't get it. Great wrestling was seen with JoMo, and the Golden Boy Benjamin, as well as Rey and Jericho. I enjoyed both matches. I hated John Cena vs. Big Show; it was your typical babyface win. Cena gets beat up the whole match then - BOOM - FU...err...Attitude Adjustment for the win. But the most disturbing part in some ways, was when I saw "Naitch" return. I hope that Ric is going to become a manager or something, but I do not want to see him wrestle. Judgment Day, if you sum it up, was bad, and not fitting to be a PPV.
