Torch Feedback TNA Impact Reax #1: "The ODB Angle segment with Roxxi and Taylor was painfully bad."

Sam Saunders of Chicago, Ill. (8.0): Best match/segment: Sting vs. Rhino. Worst match/segment: ODB's Angle. Not a bad Impact last night with Booker T versus Samoa Joe and Sting versus Rhino in featured matches. I quite enjoyed the post-match pep talk Team 3D gave Samoa Joe, as it actually made sense. I was thinking this was all some big swerve and Team 3D would be joining the Main Event Mafia after all come Sunday, but now I'm not so sure. The ODB Angle segment with Roxxi and Taylor was painfully bad, and The Beautiful People's ongoing shtick with the Sarah Palin impersonator wasn't much better, but I did enjoy seeing Beer Money get Abyss drunk. Yeah, you just knew they were going to jump him eventually, but it sure was fun while it lasted. Probably was a smart move to put Rhino over Sting in a non-title match prior to Sunday's showdown with Kurt Angle. There's no way he's winning with Angle's TNA contract supposedly on the line, but this at least builds him up into a viable opponent. As for the other main event with TNA Frontline versus the Main Event Mafia, I really feel it could go either way. A win for the Frontline would be a semi-cheap way to put the title on A.J. Styles, but it also would help sow the seeds of a Sting-MEM falling out. With Angle's interference costing Sting the match last night, I'm thinking there's a good chance this is the last where going to see of Sting with the title, and quite possibly the beginning of the end of his MEM involvement.
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (6.0): Best: nothing stuck out. Worst: building at the speed of sound. Using a term from "The Biggest Loser," this was TNA's "last-chance workout" toward the PPV. Was the effort there? Yes, there was in the Kong/Steiner-Hemme/Styles match, which had the cool double-team tornado DDT finisher. Nice touch to include footage of Styles training Hemme. Later on, Rave was wrestling as a heel with the Infection video playing in the background, without so much as an explanation for this. As dumb as it was, Beer Money lulling Abyss into getting him drunk, then attacking him was a smart move. Seeing Roode acting very loose was a little surreal to see. A good lot of the rest was sloppy and too much. Booker really needs to give up the accent before it really damages his character and reputation. Joe looks like he doesn't want to be there anymore. I wouldn't want to either if I'm being talked down to by someone who berated him for a loss as a straight loss and not one that was extremely tainted. This promo took the starch out of the promo Ray gave at the top of the show. The entire Palin thing was stupid for everyone involved; enough said. As for Sunday, Christy and Rhino got their wins tonight because they won't get them Sunday. Making it a six-woman tag match makes ODB-Sharmell interesting, takes the pressure off Sharmell to wrestle, and leaves some booking room for Booker to keep his locker room. Christopher Daniels got an awful lot of exposure, while Curry Man has been non-existent on TV. I'm still seeing Curry Man getting fired to get Daniels back in. The door comes open for Hernandez to get a World Title shot, and LAX get another tag title shot. X Division shot is anyone's guess, but Creed works in terms of the MEM-Frontline storyline. Beer Money and Bashir retain their titles. And I'm throwing a "Hail Mary" pass that Christian is a potential corner man for Angle is Nash isn't the one doing the duty. The eight-man is a doomed cluster, but I'm vibing that Sting and 3D switch sides, and Steiner does the job to move the strap to A.J. I'm not expecting many of my vibes to happen (I'm a lousy predictor of TNA PPVs) but I can dream, can't I?
