Art "Bucky" Blarr of Buffalo, N.Y. (7.0): Best Match: Swagger vs. Ortiz. Worst Match: Hardy vs. MVP. I would have much rather seen Swagger vs. Ortiz in the main event as that match deserved a little more time and a better finish. I didn't mind the Finlay-Henry confrontation even though I'm not a fan of the Irish duo. I really like D.J. Gabriel and Alicia Fox's gimmick and hopefully they won't break it up too soon because I could see Gabriel sliding down the path of Rene Dupree or Sylvain Grenier. I thought the main event was boring. I never saw anything much in MVP, still don't, and feel at best he should be in the X Division in TNA. I never was too crazy about Matt Hardy, but being the ECW champ is perfect for him right now.

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (6.0): Best: Hardy vs. MVP. Worst: opening segment. This is the first time in several weeks that an episode of ECW felt like it was "just there." The opening segment came across awkward, but at least it's trying to give time to the newcomers Swagger and Ortiz. The match between them was cumbersome. There was a reason why Swagger was paired with Dreamer: to get some seasoning from a veteran. It worked, then it was expected that would be enough for Swagger to work with someone more equal in experience, and it didn't. D.J. Gabriel also has issues. His matches flow a bit more smoothly, but some of his in-ring moves look out of place with the laid-back fun-loving gimmick he's working. I'm guessing there was some intended reverse psychology being attempted by Teddy Long on MVP, but it came across more as just making fun of MVP and being hurtful. Even thought MVP lost to Hardy, he didn't get punked out for a change. The match was made a big deal by playing to their past feud. MVP's bling, pyro, and entrance tunnel being gone fits in the context of him apparently returning his signing bonus. There was a good sign that MVP isn't a totally lost cause with the dueling chants, but the crowd was dead for most of the rest of this so in the end this felt like a wasted effort tonight.
