Sarah Knight of Tecumseh, Mich. (4.0): No Best Match or Worst Match. I don't know why, but I kind of enjoy Shane McMahon in small doses. Note: small doses. What I don't enjoy in any quantity is the idea of being treated to a Stephanie vs. Shane feud. I also do not look forward to next week's match between Cena and Kane. So, Kane can either beat the crap out of Kofi Kingston or get a match with the champion? That makes NO sense. So, it's okay for JBL to just come out during a match, and additionally, to have his theme music played for his interruption? That, again, makes no sense. Apparently, there are no consequences for interruptions. I feel the same disinterest for Snitsky as I do for Kane. Oh, and Snitsky never wins any matches, so the only thing that made that match interesting was William Regal's commentary, otherwise, I wouldn't have watched it. ... Manu finally looked decent! Almost attractive, as opposed to looking like a generic wrestler in his black tights. Candice Michelle boggles my mind. I'm female, and I don't find her attractive. So, her rave music ring entrance culminating in her unveiling her same fake boobs from under her robe every week -- what is that supposed to accomplish? I saw her boobs the last time she came to the ring, and the time before that, and the time before that, and the time before that. It's not like she puts on a potato sack for her matches. Ultimately, the most amusing aspect of the show was watching John Cena giving his Barack Obama acceptance speech and watching Chris Jericho give his Stephen Colbert-style facial expressions; if only Jericho could parlay the Colbert gesticulations into his promos, he would be so much more dimensional.
Terrie Neilson, Las Vegas, Nev. (9.5): Best: Jericho-Batista-Orton; Cena-Jericho exchange. Worst: Kofi vs. Kane. Interesting show with a lot to like. Stephanie is apparently GM, for now, but obviously a power struggle is commencing. Shane hit below the belt with the implied Triple H reference (more below than most people), but that's siblings for you. The match grade for Michaels-Mysterio vs. Miz/Morrison II is incomplete due to the inclusion of JBL, but a potential for a very promising Michaels-Morrison feud is on the horizon and I'm very happy. The "deal" between JBL and Shawn has me curious, and may be the bridge between Michaels-JBL and Michaels-Morrison. No one seemed to have a fit that Jericho won the Triple Threat, but only Randy was chanted for. I'm still guessing Randy is tuning up for a feud later, as he still seems to favor his left shoulder some. His loss made the staredown by Priceless on Randy mean more. The WWE Mobile and DX holiday shopping spoof commercials were fun. Regal did an awful lot verbally to make the IC Title important, talking about its lineage. And I really liked the use of Regal's ties to a past IC-champ-turned-World champ (Edge) and a past-World-champ-and-potential-IC-champ (Punk). Meanwhile, Melina looked great in her return, even if the cat flopped out of the bag prematurely. Unlike Candice, who was tentative on her return, Melina was much more aggressive. And her modified Canadian Destroyer move looked really good. ... Cena-Jericho finale: WOW! There were some boos for Cena when this segment started, but they were gone when it was over. There's been a tweak to Cena's character, and this one was needed and came off real well. The question of keeping it steady still needs to be answered. WWE doesn't have a good track record on patience.
