WWE Smackdown Reax #1: "Smackdown could be described in one word: chaos."

Dan Strauss of Goodhue, Minn. (7.0): Best: Hardy's effort. Worst: Khali vs. MVP. I know the "Khali Kiss Cam" is getting old to some, but I don't mind it, and Khali genuinely seems to enjoy himself. He's taken a lot of flack for his in-ring abilities in the past, even though it's probably not easy to get around when you're that big, so I see no reason to let him enjoy his fun now. MVP continues to get buried - what a waste of talent and mic skills. I like the intensity Jeff Hardy had tonight. The whole storyline was very believable, because he has had chances and has also had his troubles. Storyline and reality were very well blended in his interactions with Vicki, and for all of this, they had better finally put the belt on him. What is that belt doing for Triple H right now? Or since WrestleMania for that matter? Exactly my point. Batista gave up his Raw title because he can hold his own without it; Triple H should do the same. I liked the main event, and if they take their time thinking things through with Koslov, he could be huge for years to come. In WWE history there's always been something intriguing and successful about heels from other countries, and Koslov could be the next great one.

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (7.5): Best: Jeff's "turn?"; Kozlov vs. Undertaker. Worst: Truth vs. Benjamin; MVP punked out again. Smackdown could be described in one word: chaos. MVP's VIP Lounge gets crashed...for the Kiss Cam? I can't believe that the Kiss Cam is the highest rated segment on Smackdown when Khali himself seems to barely tolerate being in it. MVP gets punked twice in one show, which killed what could have been a good storyline. Truth-Benjamin was just plain bad - bad enough it was so noticeably edited. I did check, and it truly was Ezekiel 25:17 that Kendrick uttered to Yang. Nice tweak to credit Samuel Jackson for the same quote to explain the name. The attention being given to Kendrick's post-match behavior gives the impression a break will come soon enough. ... Jeff Hardy's behavior change seemed to be a bit sudden, but coming from someone who knows the territory, verbal and psychological abuse can leave a person vulnerable to suggestion and desperation. Even with hitting Taker at the end, the crowd didn't buy a turn (and I didn't hear the obvious sweetening I often hear on Smackdown). Frustrated at not getting another crack at the champion, he lashed out at Miz and Morrison and caused a loss for Triple H. When this wasn't enough for the GM who books for her own amusement, he went after Kozlov, who's been making inroads in Hardy's progress. Why he then focused on Undertaker, who had nothing to gain by defeating Kozlov, showed his foolhardy desperation to jump any hurdle to get back on track. If only MVP were so lucky.
