WWE Raw Reax #1: "That has to be the cheapest trick in the book to get people to tune in next week." Apr 28, 2008 - 10:27:21 PM
Paul Hollingsworth of Tifton, Ga. - Graphic Designer, 35 years old (5.0): Raw was background noise for most of the night while I was working on an art project. I watched the Highlight Reel and must say I'm enjoying the whole Batista/Micheals/Jericho storyline. I'm not sure where it's going, which is a good thing. I also was enjoying the Hunter and Orton match until Regal went insane... and while it might create a good storyline for Regal, not seeing the finish of the match was disappointing. It reminded me a bit of the main events on old Florida Championship Wrestling shows where the action would just about be ready to heat up and then Gordon Solie would apologize for having to sign off. The second it turned to black, however, I got it. A Soprano's ending. Really? That's the best the creative team could come up with?
David Hayter of London, England (6.0): Best Match: Triple H vs Orton. Worst: Cade & Murdoch vs Kendrick & London. Well, I was planning to score this Raw way higher until that ending that left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm mean, seriously, that has to be the cheapest trick in the book to get people to tune in next week. I thought we were done with this when WCW went out of business. Furthermore, I have to say I'm so glad we got Backlash for free in the UK, otherwise I'd of felt pretty ripped off. Anyways, I didn't mean to sound this negative as I really had fun on this show. I loved Murdoch singing; I was expecting some poorly written soap opera lines, but that completely took me by suprise. And Murdoch hasn't got a bad voice, either. I thought the opening segment was pretty good, I was glad to see Triple H being serious instead of goofy. I was loving the Regal-Kennedy showdown, and Jericho was much better tonight than probably than at anytime since his return. So overall I enjoyed this edition of Raw, but I just hate endings like that. I'd rather have had Regal run out and destroy everyone with knucks or something, but allas, I'll have to settle for this. At least it was different and fun. I'd rather watch a fun Raw with a silly ending than another three hour snoozefest like last week.
