Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) show #100 report
April 12, 2009
Reseda, Calif.
Report by Matt Massingham, PWTorch.com correspondent

-- Results from April 11 (show #99)

Before the show started (pretty close to on-time in a PWG miracle), PWG authority figure Excalibur called out the PWG tag champions the Young Bucks. He said they will be heading to Japan on Monday to wrestle for Dragon Gate. Matt Jackson then challenged the Cutler Brothers to a tag match for the belts.

(1) PWG tag team champions Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) beat Cutler Brothers to retain the PWG tag titles. Fun opener with lots of tag team spots. Bucks hit a double "More Bang for Your Buck" maneuver for the win.

(2) Roderick Strong beat Scott Lost. Strong nailed a sick Yakuza kick out of the corner to block Lost's "Superman" torpedo dive in the corner for the pin.

(3) Bryan Danielson beat Kenny Omega via submission. Started out all-comedy, then turned serious. Some of the strangest moments ever in the ring to start: an arm-wrestling contest and a thumb war. Obviously, the DVD is worth picking up for this match alone. Omega then challenged Danielson to "the spot," which was essentially them criss-crossing the ring over and over until Omega gave up on beating Danielson. Omega then demanded to know what Danielson's real name is. He said John Jacob Jingle Heimer Schmidt and began singing along with the crowd. Omega then tried to surprise Danielson with a back-slide, but Danielson kicked out, prompting a "You're going to get your f'n head kicked in" chant from the crowd. They get down to business and Danielson kicks Omega's head in, then applies The Undertaker's triangle choke for the submission victory.

(4) Joey Ryan beat Paul London. The former WWE star London had the pin following a Shooting Star Press, but Scott Lost ran down to ringside to pull the ref out of the ring. In the confusion, Joey hit London with a chair shot from behind to eventually score the pin.

(5) Austin Aries & Chuck Taylor & Human Tornado beat B-Boy & Scorpio Sky & Candace. Match was set up the previous night after Chris Hero beat Aries to retain the PWG Title and he booked his valet, Candace, in a six-person tag for Sunday night. Typical six-man tag match action. Candace tried to execute the ball-plex on Aries, who then nailed a kick to the head and brainbuster suplex for the win.

(6) Davey Richards beat Tyler Black via submission. Really good match with both men going hold-for-hold and landing stiff-looking kicks. Black went for the Phoenix Splash, but Davey moved and locked in the Texas Cloverleaf for the submission victory.

(7) El Generico beat Sonjay Dutt. Another really good singles match with Dutt playing the heel and showing why TNA should have kept him. Dutt tried to finish off Generico with a moonsault, but Generico moved an hit a Yakuza kick in the corner, followed by a top rope brainbuster suplex for the pin.

(8) PWG champion Chris Hero beat Colt Cabana to retain the PWG Title. Good technical bout with Cabana showing why the potential WWE missed out on. Hero got the win with a pair of rolling elbow strikes. Afterward, Hero thanked Cabana for the match. He said Scotty Goldman is gone and Colt Cabana is back.
