Mitchell Short: Ric Flair Does The Coolest NASCAR Commercial Ever

So I look up from my computer at the sound of a familiar voice on my television. It's Ric Flair, the real Ric Flair, the one who cut the greatest promos of all time, and he's running down the match ups for the NASCAR Sprint All Star Race at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC, May 16th. Only Flair's voice is in the commercial, which takes the form of an animated old-time wrestling poster. (Trust me, the commercial is better than what some of you are thinking.)

Damn, was that great.

It took thirty seconds for the Nature Boy to do what TNA and Jeff Hammond couldn't in six years – make the nebulous connection between pro wrestling and stock car wrestling look natural. I don't care much about NASCAR, even though my family has strong roots in its North Wilkesboro birthplace (Junior Johnson could have been an old-time wrestling character if he hadn't had that lead foot), but that promo had me thinking about hitting the speedway.

Now, if they could only get Flair to yell "Rockingham, Rockingham, North Carolina!" for one of those NHRA drag racing shows. Does Big Daddy Don Garlits still work that circuit?
