MITCHELL'S TAKE
MITCHELL SHORT: The First Readers Rave Award

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO BOOKMARK US & VISIT US DAILY

When I saw that PWTorch.com editor Wade Keller had added a "Comment on this article below" button on the free site I knew I was in for some fun. From the first, long before there was an Internet, and in all the years (and years and years) since, my writing here at the Torch has gotten a certain type of acclaim from a certain type of wrestling fan.

What I've never much done, though, is recognize achievement in this type of feedback, even though, much like we here at the Torch review the creative efforts of the pro wrestling companies, these energetic readers review my own creative efforts.

The SIWCOSNA will be the first in a series of infrequent recognition for these most, uh, passionate of free-site readers. They should consider this award and this small spotlight as my way of thanking them for their efforts.

Remember, if you didn't win, we'll doing more of these in the future, so don't give up. I've been particularly enjoying those well thought-out "Fat" responses – funny how no one who sees me in person ever says that. Maybe they're just trying to spare my feelings…

And now, the first Readers Rave Award:

The Satire is What Closes On Saturday Night Award

The runner-ups:

I love how this guy doesn't get satire at all. Just pointing out the complete opposite to something that happened isn't satire or funny.
- Andrew

BCM: Who didn't get what?

Seriously Mitchell, take some lessons in satirical writing execution before you put up another one of these opinion pieces.
- Ricky Guillotine

BCM: Satirical Writing Execution Lessons? Are those like violin lessons? I never had any musical talent either.

Just because you suck at satire doesn't mean your readers are literal-minded. You made no attempt at all in your retarded rant to sound as if you were mocking the situation. Quite the opposite, after reading it again, it still sounds as if you're blaming the fans. So instead of backpedaling with this crap, how about you apologize for making a fool of yourself?
- ]Rick

BCM: I think I'll stick with blaming the fans, well, some of them – OK, you.

So literally speaking, you've learnt your lesson have we Mitchell? Satire is not your forte and in future, it should be avoided? Perhaps now you can better spend your time trying to write something that is actually both informative, and entertaining, and therefore a change from your norm and actually worth reading
- Draven

BCM: No, none of that is "literally" what I wrote. "Literally" means "adhering strictly to the basic meaning of an original word or ext without further elaboration or interpretation."

And the winner is…

Aren't you a site about wrestling news? Didn't you have articles about Christian possibly returning? This has to be satire, or else you just lack any self-awareness at all. I can't tell which it is.
- A

BCM: Clearly.
