MITCHELL'S TAKE

By Bruce Mitchell, PWTorch senior columnist

We start with a casket rolling. TNA, big fans, are lending a helping hand to their heroes in WWE by using valuable TV time to promote Sunday's WWE Survivor Series Casket match between Big Show and the Undertaker.

Not only that, they're using this time to announce the exciting news that Christian will re-uniting with his old partner Edge on Smackdown. I wonder if that loyal 1.1 audience will switch on over Friday nights in anticipation of the talent switch.

That's the kind of cooperation that hasn't been seen in this business since the salad days of the National Wrestling Alliance.

The NWOld's Kurt Angle is nice enough to do the honors. Christian's long-time pal Rhino adds his congratulations.

Uh oh, Rhino said the Main Event Mafia is "afraid to lose their spots." That's money.

Well, no it isn't, and it wasn't ten years ago.

Dumb ol' Rhino runs down to take a beating from the NWOld.

He juices. Ooh. WWE doesn't do that.

Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley watch on a monitor. The gutless coward babyface TNA Legends do nothing but blubber.

TNA owner Jeff "Mr. McMahon" Jarrett is still too chicken to face Kurt Angle, too.

The kids in the back aren't getting along. Mick Foley deals with the NOW by making a match: Styles & Samoa Joe vs. The Motor City Machine Guns. Hey, don't look at me.

Sonjay Dutt (w/So-Cal Val) & NJPW's Hiroshi Tanahasahi facing Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed kill a segment. Actually, it's a decent little TV match.

Hey, look Cute Kip and The Beautiful People make fun of newcomer Sojourner Bolt's name. CK points to his (obscured).

Mr. Wilson tells Dennis and Joey to get off his lawn, then he gives the TNA X Title back to Sheik Bashir.

Angelina Love & Velvet Sky (w/CK) face Christie Hemmie & Sojourner Bolt. Mike Tenay lies about the publicity the Sarah Palin thing got. Bolt? I've seen worse indy wrestlers. Love pins Hemmie with the Lights Out. Not so good…

Fun fact: Homicide once wrestled in Brooklyn with a bullet wound he taped up with a tampon.

ODB has Sharmell on her new talk show. Sharmell says it all: Not funny.

Oh lord, they're going to wrestle at the next pay-per-view.

Kurt tells Abyss and Matt Morgan, "Wrong place, wrong time." Ain't that the truth.

Angle still wants Jeff "Mr. McMahon" Jarrett in the ring at the next pay-per-view, then he explains some stipulation for some eight man match that I lost track of.

Last week, the top broke it off with the bottom. That Proposition 8 vote upset a lot of people.

The Motor City Machine Guns face A.J. Styles & Samoa Joe. Damn, a break like thirty seconds in…

Did you know that (Perhaps) The Greatest Wrestler of All Time has never beaten Jeff "Mr. McMahon" Jarrett? Or Diamond Dallas Page?

A.J. and Joe win, but the NWOld beat them up after the match. The Kids look like kids against them.

Some strippers are in the office. Wait, one has a burkah and a Russian accent. I was too distracted to catch what she was yelling about.

Rhino is mad, and he's not to going to take it anymore. Too bad he yells all the time, so you can't tell if he means the yelling this time. He'll belled with each and everyone of you.

Booker T faces that grinning Eric Young for his Legends belt. Wade is right about the legends belt. Tenay and Don West should be yelling about the gall of Booker even having it, instead of just yelling about whatever else they were yelling about.

You can always count on Booker T to have a Booker T match.

Mr. Jarrett is apparently wearing one of his pal Jeremy Borash's shirts.

Team 3D's Devon says Beer Money doesn't know what they're messing with. He cuts the best promo I've seen this week, except maybe Chris Jericho's. Brother Ray wants to know why they're not in the NWOld. They're not?

Oh lord, that Hermie Sadler is on the show. Awesome Kong beats him up. Good.

Kevin Nash & Kurt Angle face Abyss & Matt Morgan. Kurt Angle and Abyss are justy window dressing for what we really want to see: Kevin nash versus Matt Morgan. "Suck on this!" the man says, and suck it does.

Nash pins Abyss with the big boot after James Storm hits Abyss with a beer bottle. A beer bottle, and nobody bats an eye.

Mick Foley announces the double main event for TNA's misnamed Final Resolution pay-per-view. I wonder if TNA fans ever wonder why Mick Foley doesn't wrestle. He says he shares a past with the NWOld, and they're the current stars in the company.

He then chokes on the line about the NWOld being the greatest assemblage of talent in wrestling history.

Blah blah blah.

Why can't the young wrestlers just beat up the old wrestlers and take their places on the card?

The two big main events Foley books are Booker T, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, and Sting versus Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles two partners of their choosing. If the NWOld wins, Sting keeps his title. If the kids win, A.J. Styles gets the belt.

Ugh.

Then he tries to bluff his way through announcing Kurt Angle versus Rhino. Kurt Angle is mad. He wants to face Jeff "Mr. McMahon" Jarrett because he never beat Jarrett (or Diamond Dallas Page).

Mr. Jarrett comes down. He says if Angle beats Rhino if he gets a match with Jarrett. If Angle loses he's out of TNA.

The dumb-asses that book this company don't know that's an angle for a lead babyface, not a lead heel.
