By Bruce Mitchell, PWTorch columnist

We start with Chris Jericho complaining to Raw G.M. Mike Adamle, who reminds Jericho he wouldn't be champion if Adamle hadn't put him in that stupid Scramble gimmick. Jericho threatens to go over Adamle's head to Shane'n'Steph, but Adamle says they turn off their phones during Raw. I understand the temptation, except with me it's my TV.

Adamle books that old gag where the babyface Batista picks the heel Jericho's opponent, and vice versa.

The stooges backstage are all texting Jason.

Jericho goes to the ring to complain to Shane'n'Steph directly. Why doesn't Adamle just cut his mic? Jericho complains that all the special ref choices at Cyber Sunday aren't fair to him. He's right.

Shawn Michaels comes out to tell Jericho he wishes he could tell him he would be an unbiased ref, but he can't. If he gets voted in he'll make sure Cyber-Sunday is the worst day of Jericho's life. He says he won't beg for votes, he'll do what John McCain, with his bad temper, would love to - he decks Jericho.

Jericho chooses HBK for Batista's opponent tonight. That makes sense.

Matt Hardy & Rey Mysterio face (no, not again) Mark Henry (w/Tony Atlas) & Kane. Johnny Knoxville is in rehab, I mean, at ringside. Hardy and Henry end up fighting to the back. Kane kicks Rey in mid-air again (a lot less impressively) and easily pins him. Kane wants to chokeslam Rey afterward, but the little guy makes his own comeback.

Still, the point is made.

JBL isn't going to help me with my 401K, and he specifically blames Democratic whipping boys (and girl) Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi for the bailout plan.

Hulk Haas interrupts. I've seen better. (You know it's just a matter of time, by the way.)

JBL kills Hogan with the Clothesline from Hell.

Todd Grisham interviews Johnny Knoxville and the other guy from Jackass at ringside. They made fun of The Great Khali's penis size on their website.

According to his peers and family members, John Cena is burning himself out.

Randy Orton is on the ramp. Nobody had any kind words for him when he got injured. Don't vote for him for Cyber Sunday, he doesn't need to be in physical jeopardy so close to his return. He's got a real point.

Boy, that Hogan Celebrity Show looks like a real cheese ball. On the other hand, contestant Danny Bonaduce kissed Jonny Fairplay, which means I was over on the Over/Under.

Way over.

Batista faces Shawn Michaels in a match with heel lumberjacks. Why is this a lumberjack match, when neither is known for running away? I'm not really sure.

This has surprisingly little heat, even though it goes through two commercial breaks. Finally the two fall through the ropes, and the heel lumberjacks jump both. I get it now.

The heels all then get to feed the two stars big moves, frustrating Jericho, who is watching in the back. They even shake hands, and Jericho gets that world-is-screwing-me look on his face.

I kind of like the set up for the Who Will Challenge Triple H Cyber Sunday text vote. When everybody votes for Jeff Hardy, it gives Vladimir Koslov a real reason to want revenge on both Superstars and the fans.

Santino Morella makes fun of the perverts on his text list, and then cajoles Johnny Knoxville to get in the ring. Knoxville looks tired. He asks Phoenix about her "tallywhacker" and the two do the single worst bodyslam spot I've ever seen. Hornswoggle then tadpole splashes him. Craig DeJoseph then comes down to do his naked dance. The other guy from Jackass joins him. The Boogie Man then does a lousy clothesline on the other guy, and pours worms all over him.

Knoxville wakes up, just in time for the great Khali. They smile and laugh together, then Khali crushes Knoxville's skull with his hands. Kind of a bummer.

Miz & Morrison & Jillian Hall rap. It's supposed to be bad, but it's bad at that too. They face Cryme Tyme & Kelly Kelly, who win.

Chris Jericho is waiting for his opponent, chosen by Batista. I guess Batista is scared of Jericho, because he chooses someone else. He does choose himself for special guest referee.

Oh yeah, he chose C.M. Punk for Jericho's opponent.

Batista's referee shirt is too small for him.

Jericho leaves. Batista goes and gets him. Punk and Jericho wrestle for a while. Jericho hits the Codebreaker, but Batista won't count three. Jericho smacks ref Batista, who gets mad and Batista Bombs him. He then throws Punk on Jericho for the win. From the Kevin Nash/Scott Hall NWO collection…

Score 5.0

This show was nothing special, but it did clearly explain the Cyber Sunday issues. You can tell they can't wait for John Cena to come back. Hopefully he'll provide the jolt of energy this show needs. Batista vs. Shawn Michaels was disappointing. Is Johnny Knoxville and Jackass still a big deal? That skit was a bunch of leftovers. Jericho and C.M. Punk have some of the same weaknesses in the ring. Batista and Jericho don't have much chemistry. Santino Morella was funny, talking about his possible Cyber Sunday opponents.
