SUNDAY NIGHT RANDOM THOUGHTS...

-On Total Divas tonight, I got a kick out of Nikki and Brie debating whether Daniel Bryan had "ligament" or "legament" damage. Nikki insisted the word was "leg-a-ment," not "ligament." She said it didn't even make sense that it would be "ligament."

-It's worth going out of your way to watch the latest NXT from Oct. 2 with the Adrian Neville title defense against Tyson Kidd. I really liked the overall presentation of the match in the lead-up with the storyline of it being Tyson Kidd's last chance to face Neville for the title. Kidd's reaction to the idea that Natalya was responsible for his getting the title shot showed that Kidd's got some good heel mannerisms and acting range. I do with we heard from Neville before the match, though.

The match itself was very good. Now that Kidd lost, I expect he'll work hard to end Neville's title reign because as long as Neville is champ, he won't get any more title shots. I could see him helping Sami Zayn end Neville's reign.

Titus O'Neal was at ringside and interfered late in the match against Neville. I'm excited to see Titus get a chance to be part of a storyline and not just be mid-show filler like he is on Raw.

-Lots of eyes on TNA as the Bound for Glory PPV approaches, after which there are no dates for the wrestlers through the end of the year. A TV taping will likely be added, but it's still a bad situation for wrestlers who depend on house show payoffs to help pay the bills. With reportedly one date left on his TNA deal, I wonder if Samoa Joe lasts beyond Bound for Glory. Jason Powell had a lot of insight on this situation in TNA on his Dot Net Weekly Audio Show last week for his ProWrestling.net members. Worth going out of your way to listen to. Dixie Carter told wrestlers recently she fully expects a new TV deal in January, but there's naturally concern it could just be a way to keep morale high through Bound for Glory at least. TNA needs a decent TV deal in the U.S. to stay alive. Their announcement of new deals in Malasia and Singapore is encouraging, but ultimately they need a lucrative U.S. deal to remain anything close to what they currently are with a full time crew of wrestlers, even if that crew is working for a total salary level much lower than anytime in TNA history.

-Earlier we posted 20 years ago report from PWTorch senior columnist Bruce Mitchell of a WCW house show that included a classic exchange between Hacksaw Duggan and a fan at ringside over a risqué sign. Definitely check out that article, including a report on a standout performance by Ric Flair against Sting in the main event. It also featured "Stunning" Steve Austin losing to Duggan.

-We've also been posted Ask PWTorch (All-Star Panel and Ask the Staff) every day so far this month, so if you've missed any, check out the Main Listing and catch up, or choose Ask PWTorch from our drop menu. Lots of good topics. You can send your questions to askpwtorch@gmail.com if you have a question for the staff or our All-Star Panel.

-On the Bruce Mitchell Audio Show earlier today, senior columnist Bruce Mitchell and I discussed for 2 hours 20 minutes in-depth the list of Modern Day Candidates for the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame - including a range of wrestlers from C.M. Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Sting to Jimmy Snuka, Sgt. Slaughter, Owen Hart, and Curt Hennig. We went in-depth on a total of 15 wrestlers, with the pros and cons of their HOF merits. If you aren't a VIP member, many of you would find just today's Bruce Mitchell Audio Shows worth the price of a trial sub for a month ($10). Check out details here on becoming a VIP member: www.PWTorch.com/govip.
