KELLER'S TAKE
KELLER'S MAILBAG: More intriguing suggestions on who should join the Heyman-Punk-Lesnar Alliance faction, should they add members

Yesterday I published a Keller's Take suggesting C.M. Punk and Paul Heyman add wrestlers to their alliance and create a faction to elevate some wrestlers. I asked for ideas and feedback. Here's the first batch…

===

PWTorch reader Craig Harrison suggests:

For me the new Dangerous Alliance needs to be an indie/ROH group. Punk, Bryan, Antonio Cesaro, Kassius Ohno, and - although he is a face at the moment - Seth Rollins. Bryan and Punk would be the main eventers of the group and the other three would get the Batista/Orton rub.

WK Thoughts: It might work, although it shouldn't be done because of their history, as 99 percent of WWE's massive audience would have no idea of their common backgrounds. But if Vince McMahon felt the chemistry would be good, then go for it. It's a good way to introduce new faces. I think, though, Cesaro, may be on a path to the top without needing to be in a faction to establish himself.

===

PWTorch Jeff Rayne suggests:

I'd like to see Bully Ray or Tensai come in as the muscle and maybe turn Kidd/Gabriel heel to feud with Truth/Kofi and the PTP. They definitely need run ins from the crowd to keep people guessing when they may show up. That's always been a proven tactic. Also, backstage/run-in attacks should be done in street clothes.  Makes it look more legit.

WK Thoughts: Bully Ray, again, would be a great match to play off of Heyman and Punk. He is so improved as an overall act in the last year he'd be a seriously valuable addition to WWE's top tier mix, just a notch under world title main event stature.

===

PWTorch reader Byron Williams suggests:

For a faction, I would add the Prime Time Players, and let Santino Marella turn heel and let him be an enforcer of sorts. I would have the Prime Time players jump John Cena and somehow acknowledge how much Darren Young looks like Cena. I'd have Young mock Cena by wearing his clothes, etc. Ultimately I would have a Diva (Tamina/Layla) who needs the push. I'd put the tag belts on the Prime Time Players, U.S. Title or Intercontinental Title on Santino, and the Divas title on whichever Diva is chosen. Finally, keep the title on Punk for as long as possible.

WK Thoughts: It's hard to imagine fans taking Santino seriously as an enforcer at this point. It'd be an interesting experiment, but I think people would just laugh. I like the idea of having a Diva in a credible main event faction. I think it'd do wonders for the Divas Division to have a heel Diva in a top main event male faction.

===

PWTorch reader Christopher Negron of Chicago, Ill. suggests:

Perhaps Daniel Bryan may be a good addition to the Punk/Heymen faction. If not them, why not Randy Orton?

WK Thoughts: I think Orton is at a point in his career where it would seem like a drop in stature to play a role in a faction again. He's already been a protege in a faction and a leader of a faction, so sharing the spotlight with Lesnar, Punk, and Heyman would seem odd right now. That said, maybe it'd be just what he needs to freshen up his heel character by getting into a "measuring contest" with Punk over who the group leader really is.

===

PWTorch reader Zachary Kitchens suggests:

Brodus Clay could use the faction as a reason to change his gimmick because the one he has now is awful. It could also be used to elevate almost any tag team on the roster.

WK Thoughts: Brodus some day might be ready to move to a more serious role, but I think his gimmick - while not for everyone - is a great "high-energy" gimmick for mid-card matches at house shows. His gimmick is the type of thing that is good to have in the mid-card to break up the monotony of some of the other wrestler gimmicks on the undercard.
