Pro Wrestling Torch was established in 1987 by Wade Keller. One of the primary traits PWTorch has been credited with over the years is assembling the best and most diverse staff of columnists with broad knowledge, but also areas of specialty where they have a particularly strong grasp of history. Every day PWTorch.com presents that team of writers answering your questions, some of which are fact-based and others of which are opinion-based. Either way, we've got you covered with Bruce Mitchell, Pat McNeill, Sean Radican, Greg Parks, James Caldwell, and Wade Keller. Collectively they have over 80 years working for the Torch, writing about wrestling and studying industry history and trends.

If you have a question you'd like us to respond to, send your question to askpwtorch@gmail.com. I, along with the Torch staff, will address you questions in this feature and also the “Ask PWTorch: All-Star Panel” edition which is also published most days here at PWTorch.

PWTorch reader Dan C. asks: Am I the only one that thinks this crowning of Brock Lesnar was too soon? Eight months of listening to Paul Heyman ramble on and tell us how great Brock is in the five hours a week era is going to really drag. John Cena's been vanquished and I don't think folks really want to see him chase right now. Daniel Bryan is gone. Roman Reigns just isn't getting over in a way that's going to work getting rammed down our throat for eight months. He reminds me of Batista - he's got a cool factor if he's laid back and in control, but his promos are just not inspiring and he doesn't translate to the underdog well. Had they slowly built Reigns, let Brock dominate a few guys to get the point across (say Kane trying to avenge his "brother") while Cena held the belt in transition, then give Brock the belt in a dominant Royal Rumble win - a dominant win in the Elimination Chamber - and THEN Reigns who the fans are clamoring for as "under-pushed," not turning on as rammed down their throats, that would have been fun. Heyman is great - but months of it when he and Brock aren't getting theirs? That's just not going to work or draw money between now and WM. The next big guy has to be organic. It can't be forced or the fans will reject Reigns just like they have so many others.

PWTorch columnist Pat McNeill answers: My Magic 8-Ball says: (1) It is decidedly so. (2) Without a doubt.

PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: First and foremost, Paul Heyman isn't "rambling on and on." He's cutting some of the best promos I've seen in my 35 years watching wrestling. Does WWE have an issue keeping the belt on Brock? Only if they decide not having the champion on TV every week and at house shows every weekend is a problem. It doesn't have to be a problem. They can turn it into a heat-generating on-air issue that Lesnar is too selective and a prima donna in accepting dates compared to previous champions. As for the Reigns argument, yes, it's very possible in retrospect Reigns will end up rejected by fans the way Batista was because fans will catch on to Reigns being chosen by management instead of chosen by the fans. Reigns and WWE have several months to prevent that from happening. Bruce Mitchell and I talk in-depth about this topic on today's new 70 minute VIP Bruce Mitchell Audio Show. I also talked with Steve Austin about the challenges Reigns faces in the VIP Livecast Aftershow last week. You can listen to both as part of your new VIP membership for just $3.33 for a full month. PWTorch reader Aaron P. asks: It just occurred to me that since Roman Reigns doesn't always seem to get the reactions from the crowd that the company wants, could he end up getting booed (think Batista earlier this year) were he to face Lesnar at WrestleMania instead of Daniel Bryan facing Lesnar or whomever is champion?

PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: That's certainly possible. A lot of it depends on WWE's booking of Reigns going forward. If Daniel Bryan comes back and he takes a backseat to Reigns, which is almost sure to happen, then the fans could revolt against WWE through Reigns. But there are ways WWE can book Reigns to get over as a babyface even if Bryan does return. Can they pull it off is the question.

PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: If that's seen as even a slight possibility, either WWE has to go a different direction come late December with their Rumble-to-Mania plans or WWE has to embrace the possibility of a double-turn scenario. Fighting the fans - after WWE spent years telling them that everyone is there to just "entertain them" and "they're in control, tell us what you want and what the match stips should be" - is a losing battle. They created the monster and it's going to be a challenge to fight it. The fans aren't along for the ride anymore. WWE has taught them and told them it's all about what they want.

PWTorch reader Mark from Huntington, Wisconsin asks: Could Brock turn around - quickly, mind you - and say he doesn't want the belts, that he accomplished everything and has nothing to prove, thus setting up a tournament of sorts for the belt(s), then having Brock return at the Rumble to win it then fight whomever the champ is at WM31?

PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: Okay, so you want Brock to say he doesn't want the title, then turn around and enter the Rumble for a chance to... win the title at Wrestlemania? That doesn't make much sense to me.

PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: Is this just an attempt to work around Brock not wrestling house shows? That's not a big problem. WWE shouldn't be worried about how many times Brock wrestles between now and WrestleMania. They should focus on how dominant of a champion they can create who seems completely unstoppable (and unbearable) by next year, and then in the mean time set up a babyface - Roman Reigns, ideally, in their view - who fans can't wait to see knock him off his high-horse. Whether Brock is willing or able to defend the title at house shows just doesn't matter. Fans pay money to see the WWE product in person, and if Cena and Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton, etc. are there wrestling, the lack of a title match is just not a big enough negative to influence how Brock is pushed.

PWTorch reader Blaine S. asks: Could Ted Turner ever be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?

PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: I doubt it. It certainly would be a feather in Vince McMahon's cap, though, to have yet another one-time enemy come in and work for him, even if just for one night and in the guise of being inducted into the Hall of Fame. If WWE gets desperate and hard-up for inductions into the celebrity ring, they could reach out to him, but again, I'd say it's doubtful.

PWTorch columnist Sean Radican answers: I don't see him being inducted into the WWE HOF. He just doesn't have major name value amongst mainstream wrestling fans right now. I don't think he would be a draw in terms of fan interest in the WWE HOF ceremony either.

PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: There is no way Vince McMahon would extend a genuine offer, and there's no way Ted Turner would believe it was genuine. I don't see Vince considering doing it. Vince McMahon called me in the early stages of the Monday Night War when Nitro was winning and just read me outlandish quotes from Turner over the years. He was clearly frustrated and wanted Turner's oddball statements exposed more in the media. I just don't see McMahon, even though he won the Monday Night War, extending that olive branch. If he did, though, Turner wouldn't accept the invite. It's just not a big enough part of his life's accomplishments to bother to attend and draw attention to that little sliver of his life from someone he doesn't trust or even think much about. So no.
