On Monday, September 14 and Thursday, October 1, PWTorch editor Wade Keller interviewed former WCW President Eric Bischoff an exclusive "Torch Talk" interview spanning more than five hours covering a comprehensive variety of controversial subjects from the Monday Night War period, his days on WWE TV, his 2006 autobiography, the "Rise & Fall of WCW" DVD, his thoughts on today's WWE, today's TNA, today's MMA influence on pro wrestling, the deaths and broken lives from drugs in pro wrestling, and more.

The following is the latest installment of our daily Q&As to be published here at PWTorch.com, which is unprecedented with our VIP-exclusive "Torch Talk" series. The full interview WILL NOT be published on the free site, but we will be giving you daily snippets.

To both READ and LISTEN to the entire interview, you'll want to become a VIP member, which also includes instant access to our newsmaking multi-hour in-depth hard-hitting "Torch Talks" with other top WCW players such as Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, X-Pac, Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, and others (ALL AVAILABLE AT THIS LINK FOR VIP MEMBERS). Wade Keller: Keller: Is there anything from your observation of WWE and the way operated, the way Vince operated, that you think would have been valuable to bring that knowledge from the 2000s back to 1998 and you might have done things a little differently or tweaked some approaches?

Bischoff: Of course, but again there's so much revisionist history. Recently I just read somewhere, it might have been on your site, that Hillbilly Jim turned down an offer to come into the NWO.

Keller: It wasn't said to my site, but he did say that.

Bischoff: I began choking on whatever I was eating when I read it. It was the dumbest damn thing I've ever heard in my life. The only time I met Hillbilly Jim was when I was in WWE and I did a promotion somewhere and he there in a tour bus handing out t-shirts. The idea that a guy like him - in his mind he obviously believes it - just like others believe the things they go out and talk about as they try to inflate their own position in history and feel good about themselves. The history of WCW and where we were at and where WWE was at at the time has been distorted so many different times in so many different ways that I tend not to think about it too much because it's just not worth the energy. But from my perspective, as self-serving as it may be, the WWF was a well-oiled second or arguably third generation wrestling company with a seasoned infrastructure and team of executives and non-executives supporting it. WCW was a band of gypsies and young people and people who were not seasoned, people who shouldn't have been in the positions they were in. Again, some of your readers and listeners would say, "Well, you shouldn't have been your position." There were a lot of people from the V.P.s of... and I don't want to cast aspersions on any individual - but there were a lot of people in a lot of important positions in that company that were clueless and were learning on the job and were not seasoned executives. That was a distinct advantage that Vince had. He had a great, solid time-tested war-wounded team of executives and staff around him that WCW did not have at the time. So would I have liked to have had that well-oiled Swiss watch type of mechanism behind me at the time? Absolutely, but I didn't. When I got an attorney on my staff, I got the left overs at Turner Legal that nobody else wanted. When we wanted to build out internet, I wasn't able to go out and hire the best and the brightest. I had to take whatever Turner Digital didn't want. By the way, Turner never fired anybody, so what they would do is they would funnel people that they couldn't place anywhere else in the company down to WCW. We had to hire them. I was surrounded by a lot of smart, but inexperienced people or just not that qualified of people to create my infrastructure with. That was the biggest thing when I went to WWE. I looked around and said Holy cow, this is a Rolex and I was working with a Timex when it comes to infrastructure.

Keller: Is there anything that would prevent you, based on what you had signed with WWE, from being involved with a new start-up or working with a competitor on the same level as WWE and competing with them again?
