Note: Before reading the standings for Week 2, I would like to let everyone know that the Royal Rumble Torch Trivia will start at the end of Week 4. This is the Pro Bowl or the All-Star of Torch Trivia. More details next week!

STANDINGS KEY WORDS

CORRECT/INCORRECT – Obviously the column for correct is the number of correct/incorrect answers you have. It also shows the percentage of correct answers you have as well.

GB – Games Behind. That column shows how many games you are behind first place in your division.

STREAK – Streak means how many correct/incorrect answers you have consecutively. Streak will become a major factor when the playoffs begin during the end of Week 8. Streak is also how much momentum you have in the contest if you are winning.

TOP 10 – These are the top 10 rankings for each pool. Each pool has four divisions.

REPLIES – Replying to each Torch Trivia question is very important. There is a difference when you reply to a question and you get the question wrong and when you don’t reply to a question at all. See Playoff Qualifications below for more details on this.

PLAYOFF CONTENDER – By Week 5, I’m going to start highlighting those who are playoff contenders. They will be highlighted in yellow.

PLAYOFF HUNT – By Week 5, I’m going to start highlighting those who are in the playoff hunt. That means those who still qualify for playoff contention, but are not actually in playoff contention yet.

DANGER – If you are highlighted in red, it means Danger. That means you don’t reply to your questions and you might be eliminated for not answering questions.

ELIMINATED – If you are highlighted in gray, that means you are eliminated. I’m going to start highlighting this if you don’t reply to your trivia questions for 5 consecutive days. Those eliminated will be removed from the mailing list and will no longer receive questions.

PLAYOFF QUALIFICATIONS

TIE BREAKER – Here is the process of tie-breaking in this order:

(1) In order to qualify to the playoffs or take the division lead, in case of a tie (same record), we will go by the number of winning or losing streaks (most number or winning streaks or less number of losing streaks) at the end of season.
(2) Secondly, we will go by the percentage of replies. Replies are very important because it’s unfair when someone who hasn’t replied to questions can take lead over a person who has the same record, but has tried to answer all the questions.
(3) If both streak and percentage of replies are tied, a 5-question game will take place with the winner advancing to the playoffs.

PLAYOFF FORMAT

There are 64 people in the Torch Trivia Contest. Only 32 will qualify for playoff contention. Sixteen (16) will qualify from each pool. The Top 16 from each pool will qualify for the playoffs. Doesn’t matter what the win-loss record is, the division leader will always qualify for playoff contention. The top four (4) are always the division leaders, no matter how good or bad their record is.

The playoff format will be a 16-person tournament for each pool. In the playoffs, you will receive five Torch Trivia questions. It will not be multiple choice questions. Whoever gets the most questions correct out of your opponent will win the round and advance. The loser will no longer be part of the tournament, so in other words, it’s single-elimination. The winner of Pool 1 will face the winner of Pool 2 in the final. The final Torch Trivia game will feature 10 questions. The tournament brackets will be set up with #1 seed taking #16 seed and so on. If both opponents get the same amount of questions correct, they will face the winner from the next bracket in a triple threat match. From there, the person with the less questions correct will be eliminated. If there’s a tie in both brackets, the winner will be determined by playing a rematch. Due to the tie, some people will get days off and their upcoming game will be on “hold” until a winner has been determined. Questions in the playoffs are tougher.

WAYS OF GETTING ELIMINATED
- If you get less questions right than your opponent.
- If you don’t submit your answers before deadline.

Good luck to each and every one of you. If you have any questions, please let me know. Playoff format and qualifications are subject to change with notice.
