In Brief: Figures of second generation wrestlers have been included in every toy line since Remco offered up a Greg Gagne toy in 1985. Here is a list of some of the best figures of second (and third) generation wrestlers.

(5) Terry Funk Jakks-Pacific Toy Fair 2005 Exclusive. The legendary “Funker” has had several action figures produced, dating back to his action figure debut in the third series of WWF Wrestling Superstars from LJN.

But, this limited edition figure is one of the rarest wrestling toys out there. It was available only at the 2005 Toy Fair event and features a bloody Funk wearing a removable “Funk U” t-shirt. As noted on the box, there were only 100 of these figures made available, so finding one is tricky – and expensive. Recent sales of this figure have been in the $300-350 range.

(4) The Rock Jakks-Pacific Deluxe Classic WWE Superstars Series 1. The Rock is arguably the biggest second or third generation star of all-time, but he doesn’t have one definitive figure that collectors covet.

One of his best figures was included in the first series of Deluxe Classic WWE Superstars from Jakks. This figure is much more detailed and features more points of articulation than most Rock toys, and comes with an Attitude Era WWF Title belt. Packaged figures usually sell in the $50-60 range.

(3) Randy Savage Mattel WWE Legends Series 5. Collectors clamored for a new “Macho Man” toy for years, but it wasn’t until 2011 that they got their wish.

Randy Savage hadn’t had a WWF toy since 1993, and Mattel opened the doors with a classic “Macho Man” figure in the fifth series of WWE Legends. It depicts Savage at his peak, with orange trunks, yellow boots, sunglasses and bandana, along with a classic purple “Macho Man” t-shirt. These figures usually sell in the $40-50 range.

(2) Jake “the Snake” Roberts LJN WWF Thumb Wrestlers. LJN is best known for its WWF Wrestling Superstars line, but the company produced several other WWF toys in the 1980s, including a line of thumb wrestlers.

Figures of Hulk Hogan and Hillbilly Jim are easy to find, but the thumb wrestler of Jake “the Snake” is incredibly tough to find. Even figures in bad shape often sell for around $100, and loose figures in great shape often fetch $250-350 at auction.

(1) Bret Hart LJN WWF Wrestling Superstars Series 4. The LJN WWF Wrestling Superstars line is one of the most popular wrestling toy lines ever, and few figures are more valuable than the first toy of “the Hitman.”

Bret’s first toy was released individually in Series 4 (where his first name is misspelled as “Brett”) and in a rare two-pack with Hart Foundation partner Jim Neidhart. Loose figures aren’t too difficult to find, but it is rare to find one in good shape. Loose figures in excellent shape often sell for $100 or more, and rare packaged figures can command several hundred dollars.
