In Brief: Bully Ray's action figures have been included in sets from ECW, WWE, and TNA.




Action Figure Evolution #19: Bully Ray

(1) 1999 OSFTM ECW. The first ECW toys were released in 1999 by the Original San Francisco Toy Maker (OSFTM), which had made WCW figures a few years earlier. They were produced in conjunction with ECW’s big national cable deal with TNN. The first toy of “Buh-Buh Ray” Dudley has him in classic ECW Dudley Boys getup: a blue and black tie-dyed T-shirt, bandana and Hanson brothers-like glasses. They’re pretty easy to find today for just a few bucks.

(2) 2000 Jakks-Pacific WWF WrestleMania Rulers of the Ring. Bubba Ray’s first WWF toy was released only a few months later, and was of a much higher quality. This particular wave of figures was among the first that showcased Jakks’s real-scan technology, giving figures very realistic looking faces. This figure has Bubba Ray in the blue and black camoflauge that the Dudleys wore during their early WWF days.

(3) 2002 Jakks-Pacific WWE Draft. When the WWF roster was split in two during the spring of 2002, so too was the most decorated tag team in WWF history. Ric Flair made Bubba Ray Dudley the seventh overall pick to the Raw brand as the newly named WWE attempted to market him as a singles star who was “Bubba tough.” This figure has Bubba ray in a black and red Dudleyville baseball jersey and black and gray camo pants. This figure can be somewhat tricky to find, but is usually affordable at $15 or less.

(4) 2005 Jakks-Pacific Best of ECW. This wave was released after the success of the first ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view and not long before Bubba Ray and Devon showed up in TNA. This is one of only two Ruthless Aggression-style figures of Bubba Ray and, as such, remains one of his most popular toys. These are affordable at about $15-20 per figure, but can be tough to find.

(5) 2010 Jakks-Pacific TNA Cross the Line Two-Packs Series 2. The Dudleys became Team 3D in 2005 and have been a big part of TNA ever since. Even so, this remains the only TNA figure to date of the current TNA World Champion. It is much more slimmed down and muscular than Bubba Ray’s WWE toys from Jakks, looking more like the Bully Ray of today than any other figure.
