TNA Impact on Thursday, January 23 scored a 1.21 rating, up 12 percent from last week's 1.08 rating for "Night 1" of the Genesis Impact special.

"Night 2" on Thursday night scored the highest rating in over two years dating back to November 2011 following Bound for Glory 2011.

The last time Impact hit the 1.2 mark was almost exactly two years ago when the January 19, 2012 episode scored a 1.20 rating.

- Impact averaged 1.55 million viewers, up 18 percent from Night 1's average. It was the most viewers in almost exactly one year when the Jan. 17, 2013 episode averaged 1.60 million viewers.

- Impact was aided by its Spike TV lead-in, "Cops," which averaged 1.281 million viewers and helped draw in an older audience, especially for Sting's potential farewell match in TNA.

In the demographic ratings, Impact was even in males 18-34 and down among younger viewers compared to last week. But, males 18-49 increased to the highest rating since before Fall 2013. Impact was also likely boosted by viewers outside of the m18-49 window.

Caldwell's Analysis: Last week's hook of Genesis "continuing" another week seemed to work out nicely for Impact, especially centered around Sting challenging for the TNA Title and Kurt Angle in a cage match. Whether this ratings bump translates into a sustained audience for Impact remains to be seen.
